Morality is man made it can’t be applied to a deity or higher power like God when he created us he can’t be branded evil because he destroyed us. Even if Greek mythology was applied and Zeus or Poseidon decided to wipe out humanity it’d be like crushing bugs to their sense of morality. So one human of billions instantly turning God and wiping the rest of his or her kind out couldn’t be judged since humanity is gone and with it our sense of morality.

This trait might be best portrayed in the Character Dr Manhattan. He started as a human but thanks to an accident he became a God....... Which distance him from every human perspective he once had
@shadowwarrior34446 ай бұрын
The Book of Bill confirmed a lot of this. Despite saying his people loved him, it's obvious that he was actually ostracized by his people due to his mutation which let him see the 3rd Dimension, and when he tried to show them the beauty of it, it backfired big time and his entire world was set ablaze... along with the mention of mandibles and him being covered in blood, him internally crying over never being able to undo the damage, and ultimately being alone. The events were literally so traumatic he literally blacks out mentally in order to force the memories down. In other words, Bill's embracing of chaos, weirdness, and a mad party of mayhem is simply him trying to drown in debauchery and hedonism to escape from his guilt and pain. Hell, the Axolotl literally sends Bill to a Therapy Prism, where if Bill could accept treatment, come to terms with what happened, and atoned for his crimes, he could be reincarnated as a lesser, but more benign life form. Unfortunately, Bill is far too proud and in denial to accept, and will likely remain there forever, willing to do just about anything but face his past and admit what went wrong.

Who would've guessed that one of the most evil and insane animated villains of all time, would have such a shockingly tragic tragic backstory.. I know evil is often molded by tragedy, but Bill does such a good job burying his trauma that you'd honestly think he was a malicious force of nature without one remorseful bone in his body. But so many of us can relate to attempting to drown our traumas away, chasing the next dopamine hit through some mind numbing activity.
@FearsomeVoid5 ай бұрын
@@DLxxx the best characters are the ones who aren't what they seem at first. Bill seems like a sadist who likes to cause death and destruction but he's actually a tragic character who's running away from the terrible things he has done.

I personally dont like that. Bill Cypher is truly beyond what we humans can comprehend, we can outsmart but never truly get him or reach his power. Its a HP Lovecraftian \/ old religious horror I appreciate the show introduced to young viewers. Hence, Bill should be evil because he IS. There's no explanation, no justification, perhaps he chooses to do so because he can do so much with his abilities. We have to think about the origins of Bill based on clues. Besides, the backstory is odd. So lets follow the logic. Bill accidentally destroys his people because he wanted to impress them and goes into a hedonistic rampage to forget his pain. Except he SHOULD feel guilty about his next acts of evil against those who weren't his people. He shouldn't feel so happy seeing the pain of others he hurts. It would make sense if bill say shows a more carefree/reckless/almost naive perspective of the universe and what his actions do. But instead bill is a sadist. It doesn't follow if bill a tragic figure who has issues.

@VictorIV0310 Жыл бұрын
I love how absolutely satisfying and undignified his defeat ended up being. First, he, an extradimensional trickster demon, gets conned by a mere human conman, then attempts to renege a deal when it doesn’t go his way only to be locked in the burning room with Stanley. His powers fizzle out when he tries to escape and Stanley ORDERS him to look at him. Throughout the entire show, Bill Cipher imagery had been everywhere, with his iconic singular eye being given tremendous focus. And that's because it was always Bill who was seeing everyone, looking into peoples' minds, and ruining their lives. He literally drove Ford to insanity with this notion; no matter what he did, Bill was always there. But now, STANLEY has the upper hand. Stanley is the one ordering this dream demon to look at HIM with the very trademark feature he used to spy on people...and Bill is so terrified that he listens. Bill's reaction to Stanley letting both their minds being erased is to call him an idiot. Being a unimaginably solipsistic entity from a flat dimension, he is literally incapable of understanding that someone like Stanley would put the well-being of another ahead of their own. Bill, for the first and last time in his eons long life, is reduced to his knees, terrified and tries to beg for mercy by offering Stanley personal gain, only for an angry Stanley to refuse by stating that Bill (despite his high intelligence) was stupid himself for making a foolish mistake in messing with the Pines family in the first place. However, Bill refuses to accept this by claiming that Stan is making a bigger mistake, but Stan himself will have NONE of it for good. Realizing that he’s completely screwed, his body begins to shapeshift and warp uncontrollably into different forms as he garbles a backwards message (invoking the Axolotl to bring him back to life in a desperate, last resort) before Stanley destroys him with a single punch, seemingly erasing him for good. All that’s left of Bill is a lonely stone statue in the forest, hand outstretched to make a deal. (And even if the Axolotl grants his wish, it’s highly likely that he’ll be forced to face the consequences of his actions and/or be returned to a weaker form that isn’t as threatening as before.) So to summarize: After Bill abused the cast for the entire series, it's so goddamn satisfying to see Bill completely defenseless. His powers don't work, Stanley isn't listening to any of his bribes, and his trademark smart guy persona completely crumbles as he becomes genuinely, truly terrified. After every other encounter regarding Bill as an impossible force to be reckoned with, it's nice to see him finally be treated as what he truly is; just some pathetic, self-entitled twat who needs to tear others down to make himself feel good.

In many ways he has yin and yang properties that allude to the fact he is multifaceted and hasn't embraced his true self fully

I actually feel like this was a good analysis, tho I sort of want to go about the Axolotl's poem "Sixty degrees that come in threes" - Since Bill is a triangle and is an equilateral he has 3 angles all of 60 degrees "Watches from within Birch Trees" - Which is actually a reference to how Bill met Ford "Saw his own dimension burn. Misses home and can't return. Says he's happy. He's a liar." - This is what intrigues me about this villain, despite being so dramatic by becoming the literal Moon, being the wind to make a shape out of himself in the what, and even in a way just his first appearance is dramatic, at least in the Mindscape, this could all just be a coping mechanism "Blame the arson for the fire." - This could actually refer to Bill causing a minor bit of arson, say on a forest, and the fire spread to the 2D World entirely, and killed them all, and Bill hadn't the intentions of murdering or hurting anyone, which could be a complete accident, Bill was definitely angry, as triangles were the lowest tier, and his overwhelming power could have been abused into creating a forest fire that destroyed everything, and it could be why he's depressed. And as we know, the world is punishing, which even tho Bill had no intentions of doing this, he could've been banished to the Nightmare Realm "If he wants to shirk the blame, He'll have to invoke my name." - I think the community got this one right, and it's very obvious "One way to absolve his crime. A different form, a different time." - I think this is just to hype the community, and a different form could be another shape tier in the 2D World, and time being reversed there in order to compensate and restore it, Bill of course, could maintain his power, but it would probably be restricted heavily or downright terminated from him Out of everything, it's very apparent Bill has depression, his chaotic nature is probably just a coping mechanism for what he did, and when just a slight bit of anger unleashes, it definitely can hurt knowing nobody can relate to him on that level, and Bill's insanity or psychotic nature could be because of the fact that he's depressed, or, more likely, with pretty much infinite power, Bill likely felt that with all of this, he would never have to face consequences for what he did, at two points, he could be both happy and sad, which could culminate in his mind's loss, demand for weirdness, and his insanity in general.

Sounded pretty intentional tbh XD

I disagree, I feel like "blame the arson for the fire" is like saying "blame the gun for the shooting", I think it just means Bill doesn't consider it as his fault and refuses to take responsibility for it, therefore blaming arson for the fire even though HE is to blame.

The vile eye! We need to see an episode on Emperor Belos from The Owl House! He is one evil character who can be broken down so nicely from his powerful hold on the people of the Demon Realm and the covens who worship him, all the way down to the broken and frail character who is Philip. We NEED to see an analysis of Belos! I’m prepared to go max patron to see that

Shit you not . I seen this and immediately clicked to watch. Bill Cypher has got to be one of my most favorite children’s show villains! Omg if they hadve used him for an actual adult audience i would’ve loved to see how far they would’ve went with him.

I will say, when you say murdering his “friends” or “family” I doubt he saw them as anything like that. Maybe one or two he had a soft spot for, and a couple of his buddies in his nightmare realm could be potential former inhabitants of the second dimension and survived by being loyal to him, but I doubt he saw them in any real way to a family. We don’t even know how their society or structure truly operated, it’s possible they never had such things, or, maybe he really was just an evil bastard. That’s the beauty and terror of now knowing, I’m glad they never delved to deep into it, allows the mind to ponder on its own.

Bill is an example of a very bored Elderitch God. Who wanted some more fun in his life. He of course took it way too far. As an Eldritch God would. Its pretty much a normal thing for an Eldritch God.

Characters like Bill are very interesting to analyze. Mostly due to the fact that he is evil without a doubt, but I consider him to be on the same level as say... a GTA player with cheat codes, who causes mayhem just because he wants entertainment and to see what happens when he pushes things too far. Wether he is more of a tragic figure or not remains to be confirmed but if he is I guess that's another thing that fuels his anarchy, he has nothing left so he just lives with that regret and he tries to cause chaos to distract himself from his past, like someone drinking booze to forget about life's problems.
