Hurts wasn’t developed at Oklahoma. He developed by humbling himself and serving as Tua’s backup for an entire season. Jalen’s problem was that he was always the best athlete on the field in high school. If his primary receiver wasn’t there he ran the ball. That was a successful strategy in high school and against MOST college defenses. But against elite defenses, like UGA, he struggled. Being benched in the second half of the NC game and forced to compete behind Tua the entire following season, was the best thing that could have happened to him. During that season, I noticed that Hurts was getting better at making his reads, as the season wore on, when he got a chance to clean up the last quarter of a game. It was like, “Wow, Jalen is looking good, standing in the picket, going through his progressions, etc. When he left for Oklahoma at the end of that season, his passing game was much improved and when he left Oklahoma, with another year of experience under his belt, in a good system, he was ready to be an NFL first round draft pick.

Portal is his probably his best option... Thinking that USC could be an interesting option, but so would North Carolina. Maybe he looks at Miami or takes a chance at a school like Indiana, where expectations are lower.

Milroe is not hated he most athletic guy in NCAA, just can't stay consistent an hit the receivers he needed too will be top 3 QBs in the draft, an if anyone can teach him QB work over 2 years he'll be starting just need a great QB in front of him
@gridirongodsTV2 күн бұрын
I think he should try to get a big NIL deal somewhere, work on his game, and rebuild his draft stock.
@jamierobertson16762 күн бұрын
Personally and in my non professional opinion Milroe is not an elite QB. He is a great young man, elite athlete, runs like a deer, throws a beautiful long ball. What he doesn’t do well is use the whole field and all the weapons he has across that field. Remember Mac Jones, Tua? They found those weapons. Hurts was like this too but look at him now?
@jayman61572 күн бұрын
He has the tools but he’s essentially a senior and still having issues seeing the field and reading defenses… he doesn’t slide protection and gets killed and the Oline looks bad and he doesn’t step up into the pocket. Ty, Austin or Kee in 2025 that actually have mechanics

Where’s the hate coming from? Um idk he sucks and should have been benched weeks ago wdym? Are you blind did you not watch the game ?

It is not hate, I personally think the world of Milroe…..but beating the crap out of WI, Georgia, LSU, Auburn then losing to Vandy, TN, OK, MI is nauseating and quite frankly breaks my brain.

Jalen Milroe is a great kid! He just has a glaring weakness' that has been exposed. If you put him under pressure he cannot find receivers and his opponents know it. Maybe Lincoln Riley can help him. Saban was the one who suggested Oklahoma to Hurts but I do think it is the time for Jalen to move on.
@HealthySkepticism7772 күн бұрын
Jalen Hurts protected the ball very well. Milroe has had far more careless turnovers.Hurts was elite even with his flawed passing abilities back then. Only the best defenses could stop the run game when bama had him

Head on into the portal young man. It works best for you. You have tools but you need a QB Guru because every coordinator and QB coach has tried and as an Alabama fan, we aren't sure how much more the coaches can do for you
@Powerflmale2 күн бұрын
He needs to go to an offense that allow him to run it 20 times a game and pass it 10-12.

Question did the transfer to Oklahoma make Jalen hurts a better quarterback or did the year that he said on the bench and had nothing to do but practiced at Alabama make him the better quarterback?
@dariuswilliams32062 күн бұрын
He worked with Dan Enos a lot as the backup that year and we saw a huge improvement when he came in the SEC championship.

You can tell right now on all these teams that it's 100% about stats and money. It's not about winning games. I'm seeing more D1 players/ Heisman hopefuls argue and bicker on the field more than I did when I played pop warner. I dunno people are identifying a lot of problems but these guys just need more chemistry. Look at the immediate difference when Gunnar Stockton came out for UGA. He isn't the better qb but he is the qb with wayyy more chemistry. See the results?

Milro’s play changed the more he tried to look like a pro style QB the more he showed he’s not ready for NFL as a starter, as an athlete he’s ready for any team but is he ready to make change or sit for a few years for less money.
@gary14882 күн бұрын
No one hates milroe. We just want consistency with our qbs. We just don’t like the huge ups and downs. He’s either the best qb in the country or he’s awful.
@garybrown53912 күн бұрын
Clearly, Jalen regressed due to coaching changes. He is not a good processer of defenses and new coaching makes it worse. The same thing happened at Boston College. Milroe needs to be in a system to play well. His skillset will only work in a system catered around him because he doesn't have other tools in his toolbox. To their point, he needs someone like a Lincoln Riley.

Man.. You bama fans are tough! If Michigan had Milroe, they would have made the playoffs easily. Go Blue!

Great comparison with Jalen Hurts. His OC and OL did not help his play. The play calling could be determine so easily.

The Michigan game was better than most of the CFP games.

Milroe showed every weakness he has in the bowl game which should discourage him from entering the draft. He cannot read defenses, he throws way too late sometimes, his accuracy is not consistent and he has zero sense of the pass rush. He had wide open receivers running across the field all day. He led receivers out of bounds on several throws. And while he is known for his running, his running instincts aren’t great either. Several times he had receivers set up to throw a block for him to extend a run, but he would cut the wrong way. He has no business being in the NFL right now

Milroe is y’all’s Robbie Ashford- great physical skills but just not a quarterback and some folks too scared to to state it.

Greg Byrne Alabama athletic director " All of this is your fault"We did not ask you to be like Mal More" We wanted you to get us a good coach" All you had to do was get us a SEC coach" If you would have hired Lane kiffin alot of our players would not have left" maybe even Caleb downs " Isiah bond may have stayed at Alabama" " But this is all your fault" And you need to get this right" Right now Hugh freeze is owning the state of Alabama in recruiting" Wow"

It's not hate- take a look at his actual stats since Vandy. Before Michigan game he had 9 INT and 5 TD's - that's straight trash.
@Jacobah1562 күн бұрын
Idk about the hate I love Jalen as a person and also he is an amazing runner and even deep ball thrower but currently he cannot throw the football. You keep him in the pocket and make him consistently beat you by throwing and reading a defense he can't do it. There are receivers who are open he just doesn't see them even when he has time and his receivers were frustrated yesterday. That's why we are frustrated because great qbs throw better than run. Or at least close

Milroe is not a bad QB at all…he just needs to be put with a good QB coach to help him read and breakdown defenses. USC would be the perfect place for him to get the help he needs to be a better NFL quarterback prospect. RTR 🐘
