This season has been pretty exciting, I’m happy I got back in Nascar when I did. I stopped watching around 2009 when my mom and step dad passed away since they were the ones who got me into loving nascar. My step dad was a huge Gordon fan which I also became and my mom was a Jarrett fan, I sure do miss tho days

Last road course at Daytona early in the year saw a lot drivers suffering from brake fade, that's how Christopher Bell managed to win over Joey Logano. So with the heavy braking zones at COTA brakes will be very interesting factor. Can't wait😊

That tracks design comes from different F1 tracks. The reason it’s going to be a challenge is because it was designed for F1 racing.

@Brian Bice COTA were not designed for F1, but the track was built for F1. COTA, just like most road courses, were designed to be a race track for all kind of different racing machines, on both two and four wheels.

@@patrickanderson9023 In an episode of Speed TV's Wind Tunnel program broadcast on August 22, 2010, Tavo Hellmund revealed that the circuit would be 3.4 miles (5.5 km) long and would be made up of twenty turns with an elevation change of 133 feet (41 m). The final plan of the circuit was released on September 1, 2010, showing a design inspired by the European tradition of sculpting the circuit to the contours of the land. The design draws from several European Formula One circuits, including a recreation of Silverstone's Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel sequence, Hockenheim's arena bends, and a replica of Istanbul's Turn Eight.[54] Other corners were loosely inspired by the Senna 'S' at Interlagos and the Österreichring's Sebring-Auspuffkurve.[9] A feature of the circuit is a deliberate widening of corners, to encourage drivers to follow multiple racing lines.[55] A similar feature was used at the Buddh International Circuit in India, where the circuit widens on the approach to certain corners. That’s from Wikipedia about the track. I was living there when it was built and that’s how I knew.
@patrickanderson90232 жыл бұрын
@Brian Bice Like i said, COTA were designed to be a multipurpose race track. Tavo Hellmund, Kevin Schwantz, Alexander Wurz and Mario Andretti all assisted track designer Hermann Tilke with the layout for COTA. COTA was built in order to host the US Grand Prix, but the track was by no means built specifically for F1 cars. I think COTA looks more like a typical MotoGP/roadracing type of a track than a typical F1 track.

They are going so slow compared to F1 especially during acceleration! F1 turns laps around 1:36 while xfinity is around 2:17 per lap! So to put that in perspective an F1 car would lap a Xfinity car in about 2.5 laps which is crazy if you think about it...
