A mistake the Bears have made for a long time, is they've been trying to turn Guards into centers. Cody Whitehair and Lucas Patrick are guards. They played guard in college. They're both guys I would use as emergency centers due to an injury. Some players just don't have the touch to consistently snap in the shotgun. You can get by with them, but they'll hurt you on a few plays a game because of weak and sloppy snaps. What's really driving me nuts this year, is both are blocking horribly too. If the Bears don't strongly address the center position in the offseason, we're gonna see more of... this. Of course we'll probably see them draft a center again and make him play guard...

Right, & to save their jobs, you'd think that these coaches would _KNOW_ this. Yet ownership hasn't pressured them to start Bagent have they? So winning isn't a priority. What then is? Even if tanking was, they couldn't possibly be paying ALL the players to tank their own careers & future millions. What's going O|N here? Here's my current theory about _ALL_ the problems with this team. The last nail in the coffin was that someone pointed out that Bagent threw to the Wrong Receiver on a Stick Route. Briefly, the concept is you stack 3 receivers, send one deep & this draws a defender away so one of the others is open. You Never Throw To the deep receiver because they Will Be Blocked & Bagent didn't know this. Why? It took you 8 seconds to _read this_ right? Less to explain. So he didn't know this because none of the Bears' *coaches* know this. I'll explain. Ever see a lame comedy where someone BSs their way into a position they're under-qualified for & they extend the charade by spewing some correct jargon? That's what I think 'Flus & Getsy at least *have* to be. There's too much evidence of this. Neither of these guys have the ability to focus on a Second Facet of a play or scheme. The Lions run well because they pull a guard then send someone to fill in the gap left by it. The Bears pull a guard but *don't* fill that gap. These guys can't think of both. When they got D. J. Moore they forgot that Fields could run because _these coaches_ couldn't think of long passes _AND_ run. Then Fields had one good preseason game where due to YAC Moore & Herbert scored TDs & they thought "Hmm, screen passes" & couldn't also think of _long_ passes. & these guys can't _explain_ Stick Route _AND_ remember what it's called. So every play they call, they don't know how to execute because that is a separate facet to them. Show me any facet of their offense that doesn't seem like they forgot to tell someone something essential for executing the play. "Justin, go through your reads" isn't "these are where your WRs should come out." _That's WHY_ there are No Anticipation throws. Bagent _looks like_ he throws those but it's obvious he's guessing as to where the receivers will be. These guys do not know how to execute anything. So they can't make the offense work. At all. They're calling plays & never explaining what they want anyone to do on them.

If reading a defense is his problem I’m not worried he’s young and with more experience and a o line that could give him enough time to process what’s going on he’d be elite I think bears fans are going to be extremely disappointed to see fields leaves because there’s no doubt in my mind that on a better team he would be a top qb Draft a qb next year and nothing will change if there’s not more talent brought in to protect the qb. In fields last two games before he got hurt he showed he had no problem reading defenses when he had time but once the rush gets to a qb especially early on in a game it gets to them and they become a shell of themselves and that’s for any qb. Now imagine consistently getting pressure every game and never having a stable o line for three years what that would to to any player

There's space for him to stand in there and deliver it but he gets happy feet from the pressure and doesn't step into it at all. This play by play really shows how disconnected Mooney is with the play calling and his inability to make separation from defenders. He should be eating with all attention on Moore. I can’t image him lasting as a starter very long in the NFL if he can’t grasp the play calling or create separation from defenders. I also recognized that Kmet is barley involved he should be the safety net when O-line breaks down. Bears should think about running a 2 TE set with Kmet & Lewis for blocking like Pats used to do with Gronk & Hernandez. By no mean am I comparing those players to them so take it easy 😂

Yeah, I agree. Mooney is one of those guys that seems to take too long to get separation. He supposedly ran a 4.38 40-YD, but those pads must be weighing the little guy down. Obviously, receivers like that require an offensive line that can give the QB 3 seconds to throw to because they're waiting on them to create separation after 25 yards! SAD!

He should have had 15-20 passing plays he worked on that if he goes in, he has something to hang his hat on. These center snaps with Bagent when your saying whitehairs snap is off.. for instance 12minutes in it's actually Lucas Patrick.. I believe they benched Whitehair early before Fields went down. n whitehairs # 65. Lucas P is #62. Don't get me wrong ur right both players snaps were poor and unacceptable. Just clarifying names. 😮Which just is sad because Eberflus' " I just wanted to get someone more experienced in at snaps" when benching Whitehair, yet Cody has over 3000 snaps now lucas Patrick over 1 thousand less than 2. So Cody triple the amount. Just be straight up Eberflus. The snaps were poor . But thanks for this vid I enjoyed it. I have a lot of faith in Tyson Bagent I think he's underrated. Young but underrated get rid of these poor snaps and miscommunications let the kid have a chance atleast, and ull see some success.. goes for fields as well. Bagent is a hidden gem imo

I like Tyson. he has good vision of the coverage and a good arm and great attitude. You don't get the most Touchdowns in NCAA history by accident. It's not like you can say that any QB coming into the NFL ever faced a non-totally-shitty defense unless they played against Ohio st or Georgia. So the Dii complaints are kinda weird. Just watch what he does in games, understand that ALL defense is trash in college relative to NFL. You want a QB that wants to be great, that leads receivers, that puts it where only the receiver can catch it, and his decision-making leads to points on the board. Points are the ultimate because that is the one that wins games. That's what Tyson does, it's crazy that he's undrafted. I said the same last year about Purdy, i had both going in the 4th round. I played backup qb but i played mostly defense. i know what defense doesn't want to see in QBs. I always laugh when NFL teams dont see things that i do in QBs coming out.

What gets me is people will say he wasn't playing against top level defenses in college. But they ignore the fact that he was also playing with offensive talent that wasn't top level talent. He did have a few Division 1 offers coming out of high school but didn't like the fit. He had some also try to get him to transfer as a srnior.

Those flat routes are probably where the ball should be going instead of trying to fit that ball in to double coverage dang near but that side of the field is too congested by haveing the same two routes right next to each other. On top of it all, the throw is ok, but he leads him into the safety a bit which makes a tough catch impossible.

Fields will never underthrow a qb like trubisky or bagent. Never. His arm talent and deep ball is unquestioned and nor is his athleticism and ability to avoid sacks. Bagent however does all the easy things for a normal thwt fields can’t do. Process quickly and get ball out fast. However he has the deep ball ability of Mike Glennon and can’t even hit over 30 yards. Expect lots of short throws and lots of runs tmr

Ty Bagents, Justin Fields, or heII even if the Bears had Joe Montana it wouldn’t matter with how bad the O-Line and play calling is right now. I guarantee you that Getsy will have the training wheels on, guard rails, floaties, or whatever else it takes to hold him back on Sunday. You can expect a called run on 95% of first downs 80% of 2nd downs and 50 % of 3rd downs no matter what the distance is. And the plays that are called will be the least creative plays in the entire NFL. I know I sound like the worst Debbie downer but I have D.J more Cole, Kmet and Foreman starting in my fantasy lineup so obviously I’m a little optimistic but just knowing how bad the o-line can be and how bland predictable Getsy’s offense is, sometimes you just have to prepare yourself for the suffering before it happens. That way the letdown won’t be so bad.

The bears offensive line coach needs to be replaced. The first play here was a complete disaster. There is no universe where a protection call should end up with your LT sliding out to pick up a DB, your LG sliding out to pick up a LB, your C and RG double teaming a tackle, and your RT blocking a DT leaving a TE trying to block one DE and and the other DE completely unblocked. They had seven guys in protection with the slot chipping that play and six guys rushing, but somehow they devise a protection scheme that leaves the two most dangerous rushers going one on one against a TE and a RB.
