very interesting the rewiew. Even though I only do (occasionally) photography, it’s always fun to watch your videos. Good job! 👌🏻👍🏻

I have some older SLR Magic anamorphic adapters and love them. I dig the idea of being able to auto focus with this one. They older ones don't do that very well.

I am a fan of the blue flares created by this adapter...... I feel these are the kind of flares you might have seen in movies like Steven Spielberg's close encounters, than the flares that some movie fans considered over the top, like those seen in JJ Abrams Star Trek films

So wierd that there is only this video addressing this subject. I would love to get an anamorphic lens but autofocus is key for me.
@RogerinFinland3 жыл бұрын
I think it's a bit blasphemous to mix anamorphic and autofocus. Fortunately I'm clueless enough to give it a try I suppose 😅 Seriously though, with this adapter, depending on the lens/system/camera you can get yourself anamorphic and autofocus without breaking the bank 👍🏻

Same here. Did you find a solution?

Could you elaborate? I can't spot a problem stated on the previous two comments that would require a solution 🤷🏻

Can you put on bmpcc OG 16mm sensor?
@RogerinFinland Жыл бұрын
Yeah, for sure. The problem tends to be with bigger sensors and wider lenses. With the OG bmpcc, I assume that anything equivalent to 35mm or longer will be fine.

Great review. Does the limitation of 40mm refers to the glass element or the whole lens body diameter?
@RogerinFinland2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Not totally sure about your question. I think it's mostly about the glass element, but the main limitation seems to be about focal length. I don't recall precisely, but I think it works if the focal length is about 35-40mm equivalent in FF, and this adapter is designed only to cover Super35.

I think I see a DJI Osmo Action in the background (or GoPro Hero 9). Have you tried this SLR anamorphic on that action camera? Would it work?
@RogerinFinland3 жыл бұрын
I wonder in what bit of the video that was visible 🤔 in any case it's a DJI Osmo Action and it's smaller than this adapter 😅 I wouldn't know where to start trying to pair the two
@alexanderjamesINC3 жыл бұрын
@@RogerinFinland the SLR has a 52mm thread? (Where you attach it to a lens). You can get a SmallRig cage or Ulanzi (maybe?) cage for the DJI Osmo Action. The cage has a front 52mm thread for mounting ND filters and stuff, so technically you could mount the SLR to the cage. I would love to know if this would work.
@RogerinFinland3 жыл бұрын
I think I have the SmallRig cage somewhere, but not sure if I still have the filter thingie 😯 I'll do some digging, and if I find it I'll do some testing 😊
@RogerinFinland3 жыл бұрын
Found it!!! I'll be definitely testing this out and making a video on it 😅 It'll be a series, "things you shouldn't do with an anamorphic adapter, but.. why not try anyway?" 😁

@@RogerinFinland can I contact you some way other than youtube? I'd like to talk about this further, as I may be able to get an SLR.

Great review! Your test shots are great, could put more of those in while you're talking in my opinion! Let me know if you wanna sell the Anamorphot and happen to be around Helsinki area :D
@RogerinFinland3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I could argue that all shots are test shots, including the talking head 😊 but I do see your point. Feedback taken! I am in Uusimaa, but I am not planning to part ways with the Anamorphot. If that changes I'll try to keep this conversation in mind 👍🏻 PS: cool profile name you've got 😅

Hi there! Yes, I still have it.

@@RogerinFinland thanks for the reply, I'm big fan of your "for the impatient ones" reviews:) plan on selling it after your tests?
