Thnx. It could be helful to have more details regarding lend mounts such as how you attached each of them to EF or other mounts
@alanbesedin4 жыл бұрын
The mount depends on the taking lens you will be using. The anamorphic lenses I've mentioned, all need to go in front of the taking lens and that can be any mount.

Good stuff :) I'm a newb, what are you calling your prime lenses? "Taken lens"?
@johnburton37637 жыл бұрын
The prime lenses are "taking lenses." These are the normal lenses you will attach to your camera's lens mount. The anamorphic adapter then mounts in front of the "taking lens." Together they create an anamorphic image. Having two pieces of glass on your camera can sometimes mean you have to focus twice--once on the taking lens, and again on the adapter. This is a major downside to using an anamorphic adapter. Adapters that can minimize this are well worth the extra money.
@EposVox7 жыл бұрын
Kk just wanted to make sure.
@anunexaminedlife12076 жыл бұрын
I've never heard of a taken lens before. How did you come up with that system? I would think that having two lenses stacked on top of eachother wouldn't allow for such a side image

hey so i've been searching around for a couple of days and i ask myself aren't there any lenses that give an anamorphic squeeze and look that you dircetly attache to your camera? like all solutions i heard of are adapters to lenses, but aren't there just lenses that are anamorph already? and i mean lenses that aren't as expensive as the lenses from arri, cooke or panavision, weren't there ever built "cheap" (up to 3000€) lenses?

Space! in the anamorphic aspect ratio is the essence! All that fixation about oval background bokeh and blue horizontal flares, is a product of the "Star Bores" generation, weaned on CGI and SFX. Imagine classical Cinemascope Westerns and true narrative films being fixated by those artifacts! They would have been considered as the aberrations which they are, and would have been painstakingly eliminated!

What are the best shooting lenses to pair with anamorphic? I took a look at the Canon fd 50mm 1.4 on your site, but after googling for a while, I'm uncertain about the mount compatibility; every info I've found, requieres to mod the lens; probably to add auto focus... That's something I don't care for, I much prefer a reasonably priced manual focus
@analogbug167 жыл бұрын
What camera are you planning to mount it to?
7 жыл бұрын
I've done a lot more research since I commented here, but I plan on using the GH4, but I'd much prefer to use a speedbooster and use a full frame lens. Or regardless; using the weidest angle possible, which everywhere I look, says 50mm [full frame], so you don't have to crop on the sides

@vintageaudiohifi55457 ай бұрын
you need the first two lens from this video. You will use manual focus only on the taken lens. For example, helios, minolta, contax, canon fd or any other taken lens you would like to use.
