Good job Tito! Not only you managed to "squeeze in" a 2hrs cine lecture in less than 11mns - you also were able to properly guide your audience in a journey worth 60 years of cinematography.

I've watched a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge amount of anamorphic YT explanation/demo, and this is by far, by far one of the best. And the shots you took are just absolutely stunning. I've just bought a GH5 (would love a 6 but I need to budget for other gear as well!). Hoping to get the Sirui 35mm x1.33. I wish it did have a squeeze factor of x2.0 as I do really like the oval bokeh and super stretch look but I don't think it's as noticeable on it. But really love your work man.

This has got to be one your best videos yet and I would consider this the definitive introduction into “why anamorphic?”. Excellent job and keep it up! 👍

Nice comparison between spherical and anamorphic lenses, and I appreciate the time you take to quantify complaints of modern lenses like 'sterile'.

at @6:45 , there's a big change in perspective and magnification of the background vs the subject, due to the changing lens focal lengths. But isn't perspective distortion actually a result of distance from the subject, rather than the lens itself? The distance in this shot remained the same, with the lens length changing to match the framing. So there should only be a change in DOF, not perspective, but clearly I'm missing something.

I imagine this module will be used in film and media schools worldwide. You tell the story of the "why's of Anamorphic" perfectly unfortunately its the "how's you can afford them" thats the greatest challenge. Sirui gives you the wide format at a affordable pricing but the bokeh profile and tstop range is limiting when compared to Pana's and Cooke's etc. I still think a oval matte modded low light lens delivers a amazing cine look for the budget restricted if your willing to forgo flares and apply them in post if needed.

Great info! Learn a lot from it, but as a beginner into videography, will it be wise to spend anamorphic on iPhone like the Moment anamorphic lens?

That's his opinion. To quote Mitch Gross, "one man's artifact is another man's art", and vice versa.
