Love this series. Not to be overly pedantic, but I believe the B & L did not require double focus with the exception of a 35mm attachment. Also, the later B&L "E" lenses had a design change to counter the "mumps" effect. those are blue and have a oval shaped flat piece of metal covering a port on the top rear of the lens. Word on the street is that early Panavision lenses used B&L lenses in new housing. Great vids!

Love, love, love everything about this Anamorphic Cookbook series - hands down the easiest way to expand our knowledge in both cinematography and industry history. It should be required for cinematographers, film students, and photography enthusiasts alike. Good job, thumbs way, way up!

@@AnamorphicOnABudget oh shit can’t wait to see that!!!! I feel like RF mount is still like the Wild West, lots of questions out there on what’s to come and what can work. So can’t wait to see what your thoughts and knowledge are on it!!!

Depois de mais de 20 anos no universo de produção audiovisual, só fui descobrir dessas lentes essa semana. Que absurdo! Feliz por saber que temos lentes mais acessíveis. Universo incrível. =)

I love anamorphic history! I have to say, there’s a lot of anamorphic “look” outside of the classic 1980s C-Series that I’d like to get into at some point. I have some B&L projection lenses that have really old-school minimal coatings which give me strong 1950s scope vibes, and I’d like to get them in a useable state some day. I think the 35mm in particular is a prime candidate for shortening and use with the new FVD-35NP. The 70mm I have is no joke as big as my head! I wish there was a focuser big enough for it, but I won’t be holding my breath. I try to avoid buying scopes “just because” but when I saw a cheap pair of Tushinsky Superscopes, I just had to buy them. Just the housings look amazing, and they actually shipped box-in-a-box with the original box included, complete with a catalog, order slip, and red letter “Superscope” tape on the box. I’m gonna have to turn them into some sort of lighting fixture or something because they’re just beautiful.

Oh man, that box sounds super cool! I have an original box for a Vistascope and it's pretty neat! We should start scanning and sharing all this stuff.

Hi. When you say "become a member" do you simply mean subscribe to your channel? I am already subscribed. I don't see any other way to become a member. Is there a link somewhere for a paid membership?
