It was first made in Tamizh with Nagesh as hero average hit starring Nagesh Amitabh s role was done by a female artist. Later remade in Telugu as Chiranjeevi starring Savithri did not fare well The best version is Hindi so subtle so emotional no top of the performance. Hrishikesh Mukherjee at his best. Evergreen classic ably assisted by all stars from Sumitha Sanyal to Rajesh Amitabh Gulzar Yogesh Salil and excellent photography. Ramesh Deo and Seema Deo too. Collective efforts but credit goes to Captain. Rajesh at his best!
