In 2007 she moved record labels because her A&R Dave Massey was moving from Sony to Mercury records. She followed him. Mercury Records forced her to drop the pop rock sound and be more "urban". Fir the first time, Anastacia had no creative input to her lead singles and the whole album was a mess. The album totally flopped. Her previous four projects all went platinum in the UK, while this album barely cracked the Top 20. It would be another six years before she would release another album

I searched for her songs because I'm in the mood to reminisce the good'ol times. Then, I stumbled upon your video, and since I kept seeing you in many videos I decided to click and it's about Anastacia anyway. She's so amazing and talented yet underrated in the US but later found success in Europe and other parts of the world, reminds me a bit of Lara's situation. Talented but ignored by the US management. Wasn't she also under Sony like Lara was in the early 2000's? If that's true, kinda shame on Sony. Thankfully, I remember her when I was young, there's no way I forget that voice. Really wish she and Lara to be bigger and more well-known.

Patti, Aretha, Vanessa Amorosi etc.
@KajiVocals3 жыл бұрын
@@GarageStudio7 Patti Labelle has a large voice in terms of production but by nature not nearly as big or dark as the other singers you mentioned. Her voice is by nature actually rather bright and girly. If you listen to her sing in the Bluebelles days, she has the brightest and girliest voice in the group. Same can be said for the Labelle era as well in my opinion. Though during the Labelle days she played with her tone more. Aretha whom you mentioned had a larger voice and darker voice than Patti naturally but the way she coordinated it made it seem the opposite.
@KajiVocals3 жыл бұрын
@@GarageStudio7 And I don’t know if I’d call Vickie’s voice less dense or powerful or icy. Her voice is in fact so powerful she never needed a microphone when singing in church. There’s plenty clips of her singing live without amplification in church and her voice still carries. As for the density. Check out her We Shall Behold Him cover. She takes chest to F-sharps. For iciness check out her 1994 album. She’s like Patti Labelle but with an actually dark and naturally massive instrument.

Patti's voice was lighter during her Bluebells days however "Bright and girly" isn't how I would describe it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHbMgZJnethpZpIm35s The likes of Ariana Grande, Leona Lewis etc. are bright and girly. I think her voice has some wear and tear for a number of reasons e.g. huge health problems, too much touring and she doesn't warm her voice up. She's a natural, intuitive singer who never trained. As a result it's become inconsistent. However the more I think I know about her voice, the more confused I get. In 2018 she had a lot of moments where her voice sounded out of control, however, I've included clips here from 2018 where she still sounds great. So, I'm not sure if nerves, or technique play a role too. However, what I do know is that she is a true survivor, who sings with wisdom and conviction and who has one of the most interesting voices on mainstream pop

I'd love you to do a video about the OUTTA LOCKDOWN show. Unfortunately, HONEST reviews have been canceled by fans who cannot handle the truth, let alone accept constructive criticism. I understand that the tour has just begun, and we must wait a while to dissect it, analyze it and make an honest evaluation of her actual vocal conditions. But having her lipsynching easy songs like Not that kind and Freak of Nature shocked me to the core. I knew she wasn't ready for a concert tour, but now I wonder if the damage done is so serious to the point that it enabled her to make a successful recovery. She always bounced back until 2017. She started showing strong signs of exhaustion on the last leg of the UC Tour, and she kept squeezing her voice until late 2018. Sporadic performances in 2019 and 2020 were so and so... Her summer 2022 vocals were good on certain songs and terrible on others, unlighting lack of stamina and resonance. The once glorious thick tones are now paper thin, she projects the notes that scare her into the nose, and she doesn't always support them.
