Her tone and vocal ability were declining in the 2010s but now sound just like 2000-2002 Anastacia but with a deeper richness and more control. I hope she does tour in the states. She had a show in the US a month or 2 ago so maybe it's a new beginning for US shows who knows.

Yeah I've heard her sing live with Chaka and she matched her and raised the bar. She is for sure up there with the true Greats like Aretha and Chaka . I'm from the UK and I am embarrased that she does not get the praise she deserves in the UK . Maybe cos she makes other so called stars look like amatures they don't want to draw attention to this fact.

I completely agree with all you've said!...But there are several types of 'guidance' in this industry!...What I meant was that she should have access to the BEST musicians, producers and so on...that could help her bringing up more her own language like I think she had on her first and last CD's (although 'Heavy Rotation' lacks many things...notably...heavy promotion by the label)!...I can't wait for the new album due to this autumn...hopefully to finally hit successfully her native U.S.!...

+Eonie dude I know, and it's the US's loss. The same goes, but to a far lesser extent, to Kylie Minogue. She's at least had a couple of hits here, but she's nowhere near as big in the US as she is in Europe and Australia.

The thing is that the type of sound she did all over the years changed a bit between (sometimes) too many "incompatible" genres (either more full disco/soul-funk/r&b, either more full rock)...and mainly not suited to most american tastes nowadays (unlike in the UK/Australia or Europe, in the US, nowadays, Soul/R&B is more "street-oriented" and "race-oriented/categorized"...that's why an artist like Mariah Carey was accepted and Anastacia wasn't...)...So that's why she must have realized also that in order to get there (in her homecountry) more exposure, she would've to go to a more "rock-oriented" territory, as she's also white...And apart from this, when she first started, her visuals (with spectacles) didn't help much either (this "right-image" issue is a sensitive question in America too)...and highlighting all these issues is, of course, her labels' appalling lack of promotion in the US throughout the years!...
