Ya know Rasputin is the best representation of a D&D lich I've ever seen in media

Loved this scene. Especially the part his neck extends and he bangs his head on the ceiling before sinking into himself. I found it rather amusing. 😅 Still love this scene and song. One of my favorites after Be Prepared and Hellfire.

"Terror's the LEAST I can do!" THE ultimate evil villain song. Love this movie - great animation in CinemaScope, great story, great characters, great voice acting and singing, great music! Just a shame that I missed seeing it in theaters when I was 12!

I found it very creative the way Don Bluth depicted Grigori Rasputin; I mean, the people threw quite a bit at the mad monk, and he wouldn’t die. They tried poisoning him, but that did nothing because he had developed an immunity to Cyanide. Rasputin was also stabbed, clubbed, and even shot four different times and he kept on ticking. It was only when drowned that he finally succumbed. All this in mind, it’s kinda fitting how he’s depicted in this movie.

If Disney decides to do a live-action remake of this, that’s the one thing that would improve it. I know this was actually made by 20th Century Fox, but now that Disney owns Fox… do I really need to say more?

@@TyronBezzina I’d want it to have Dove Cameron, Emma Stone, or Hailee Steinfeld as Anya, Timothy Chalamet as Demitri, perhaps Hugh Jackman as Vlad, someone like Julia Andrews or Emma Thompson as the Grand Duchess, and maybe Christoph Waltz as Rasputin. As for Bartok, I think they should keep Hank Azaria as him, but if they had to go with someone else, I’d also be cool with the little Bat being played by Keegan-Michael Key, John Mulaney, or even Josh Gadd.

Bartok is a nice take on the animated evil sidekick with his snarky attitude. He even has the sense to realize pursuing a vendetta is a mistake.

It is interesting to see how he as a villain was handled. As he says, he is a wreck while bartok finds him. But as soon as he gets the dark energy core back, he bursts into one of disneys best villain songs. I also really love his friendship with the bat and how bartok tries to reason with him. Really, i wouldlove to see him as an unvolunteering hero in another movie. He already has a backstory, so i would pay good money for him reapearing, maybe as some kind of lich or demon, die to his death on earth. Anyone else?

I can picture the Villain Assembly: Rasputin, Frollo, Scar, Ursula, Maleficent.. Magnifico: "Hello, I'm the new super-villain." "What did you do? Start a revolution, commit genocide, overthrow a king and enslave the people?" M: "Ermm, I refused to grant a couple of wishes" "Get out!" M: "But I have a song.." "GET OUTTTT!!!!!"
