I am an old guy but I remember my mother playing this often. She would often be overwhelmed by the task of raising 6 children on Dad's very low salary. Some times she would drop everything and go to the piano, and play this. I realize now that the fast parts expressed her frustration with all she had to do, and when the slow portion came an expression of peace came over her face. I know it saved her sanity. Unfortunately she was woren out at a young age dying at age 52. Regretfully, I was too dense to realize all that she did for us. God rest her soul!

Hey old guy! I’m right up there with you! One thing I have learned and experienced about music - particularly classical music is that listening intently or even casually heals the souls of those who listen. May the remainder of your life be healed by it! Blessings!

Now imagine that Beethoven had a blank piece of paper in front of him when he wrote this. Just a feeling inside him. And put THAT on a piece of paper. That's pure genius. Imagine writing THAT. Excellent performance though, I just got lost in the creation. Lost in the "chase" he obviously imagined. Tears. :)

Hi Lilian. I started learning from scratch nearly 9 years ago in 2011 when I was 48. The piano has brought so much joy and happiness into my life that I don't consider ever giving up. Well, my neighbours might disagree here! Even if as an adult one cannot learn or memorize the way children do, to me it has paid off. Definitely. I encourage you to take it up again. I think having started to play and study as a child makes you much more likely to be able to catch up, get your skills back and enjoy the piano again in less time than it would take someone who starts like I did. By the way, I studied psychology, too, but now I work as a teacher.

I am floored by Anastasia. She is brilliant in every tempo. The hyperactive director of this video came close to ruining her 3rd movement because whatever substance he was on caused him to think it wasn't exciting enough to watch this genious perform with the speed and precision and athletic piano pounding Beethoven demands here. So, as beautiful and exciting as Ms. Huppman is to watch, try just playing the sonata with headphones on and close your eyes, or write as you listen, as I just did. Bravo!

Someone who does not appreciate classical music genre, also people's are into hearing these such tunes in the modern Heavy Metal music genre, but it is somehow considered offensive because it comes from a time of figure heads considered to be of White Dominance & White Privaledge that Cancel Culture and Extremists Groups such as BLM are trying to get rid of. Beethoven was considered to be very costic and if you are a musician going deaf all the more a person is likely to turn costic. Musicians are arrogant, egotists and self oriented usually, especially virtuosity higher order intellects because such intellects do not fair well with people's other than ones who are are like themselves, yet they still put themselves first over others they deem to be of higher order intellects or virtuosity. In their time as now it's about perfectionism to where they believe themselves to be the same and we're upheld and regarded as such in highest esteem by the powers that be aristocrats, kings, queens, as virtuoso musicians such as Beethoven spent decades learning and honing their craft of the arts into becoming virtuosity and perfection personified. High Intellect does not easily bring itself down to lower levels of average human being for their brains relate so differently to most all creation than a person of average intellect does, as compared to themselves because their brain is wired and works on a much higher different levels of being and so much more ect. ! ! ! Look at Einstein, a genius higher order intellect, was an eccentric who wore the same type outfits and loafers cause he did not like tie up clothing nor tie up lace up shoes, so he kept it simple and routine unless it came to his sciences and mathematics works and such ect. ! ! ! My mind is a whirlwind from the moment I wake until the moment I crash and I may actually burn out way early before my time. Sleep or music or my female companion a couple friends and a short list of other interests are my only escape from myself and all my usually high order intelectual this and thats for my IQ alone is near 200 or plus as I was tested in my youth, and I seek out others like myself or they find me, for that is who I relate most to and who gets me and accepts me for me, as does my female companion who is much like myself intellectually. Simple is complex and complex is simple to me usually. I Do Not In Any Ways consider myself above nor better nor superior nor beyond any other human being. I am a complex thick book for sure but otherwise gentleman soul that strives to be grounded, but can seriouslyTCB. One quark about me is that I can not standmusic that is Hip Hop nor Rap nor Bass nor Opera genres, such frequencies literally makes me physically ill just as alcohol and some ect. does as well ! ! ! 👍🤘🎸😎🙏 DDH 3-14-2021.

You have such a sympathy for Beethoven Anastasia. Like silvery moonlight on the surface of a tremulous lake the music has a hypnotic beauty. We gradually move through the disturbance of gentle breezes to, by the third, a tempestuous and storming finale. Beautifully played and interpreted.
