I cry my eyes out every time I listen to One Last Goodbye. It's one of the songs in a mix CD I used to play while I dated this sweet guy back in 2001. He died suddenly almost 5 years ago and he took my heart away. This song brings me closer to those days of utter bliss and butterflies in my stomach when I was happy in love and then back to the crippling pain I felt when he died. Amazing how I picked this particular song for that mix CD and how 12 years later it would so perfectly depict a moment in my life. I read many comments of people who lost family members and loved ones. A big hug to all of you and may good music help you go through the bad times. ❤

Beautiful commentary. That’s what they wrote the song about sure. Aw I bloody love anathema. Completely underrated. Big fan and have seen them live three times. They did a history tour here in Dublin. Brilliant. This song is touching but obviously so sad. My mother is also a huge anathema fan. Sometimes you need to hear music that resonates with how you feel and they are spot on. I’m sorry you lost your Mam. Love this song and so glad she did too.

Late to the party.... I love Anathema. Recently I had serious back surgery, and rehabed for 5 months.... We're Here Because We're Here got me through a lot of pain and tough times. I have been following your channel off and on because of Ruben. I'm more of a Prog guy than metal( though I love Gojira)and some of the new stuff. I missed that you were a fan of Anathema, so I have now subscribed. Aside from Anathema, I'm a big fan of all things Steven Wilson, Opeth , RIVERSIDE, Rush, Katatonia and as a 50yr old, I have a soft spot for old school metal, industrial, and punk from the 80s. Thanks for posting this video!

Heard Anathema after seeing they were touring with Alcest. One last goodbye was the first song I heard and I loved it. My dad passed away 10 years ago so I used this song as a tribute. Got into the Judgement album after that, love it and looking for recommendations. Cheers for this video dude. Keep em coming

10:07 "massive sense of pride for these guys"..., so the guys just live around the corner, as I understand, and you are proud that they are world class musicians. (just keep in mind how many musicians are world known and are coming from UK) and NOW you can slightly imagine how I feel about Jinjer. As for Anathema - I was their huge fan from "Crestfallen" up to "A Fine Day To Exit" era. Much respect for them. Cheers.

I'd recommend checking out Katatonia 'day and then the shade' and Leprous 'The price'. Not a million miles away but think you may enjoy.
