this song is the song of sonia and gaetano ... from italy we followed you to Exter to hear you live .. we were very close then , very much in love and the sound of our story was you with your songs ... now this great love is over and every time I listen to your songs a great nostalgia invades me even though five years have passed but the music is eternal just as the love for her will remain eternal ...

Everything about The Lost Song Part 2 is close to perfection (though I also love Part 1 and 3). About Daniel Cavanaugh's inspired songwriting, what more can be said? But Lee Douglas's vocals in Part 2 carry me to a place that few singers have ever brought me to. If an all-powerful being were to grant me nine wishes, one of my wishes would be for Anathema to rise from the ashes. It would be a source of such happiness for many of us if we were to have another opportunity to listen to Vincent Cavanaugh and Lee Douglas sing their impassioned duets to the words and music of some new compositions by Daniel and other members of the band. When I listen to the inspired words, music, and performances found in the last three albums by Anathema, I can't help but feel hope for humanity, despite a world filled (in 2022) with so many examples of human imperfection.

The 'Lost Song' is made up of three parts, as Daniel Cavanagh suggested that it is related to some older tunes which he is supposed to have forgotten/lost them. The instrumental orchestration it is very close to electronica influences as Anathema have said in their interviews.I do believe that it opens a new pathway into band's progression of music, moreover it is written a new 'chronicle' into their evolution as a band. What is noticeable is the interconnections through all three parts, but also the message 'What we are is what we love'.I'd say that it is a bright color that has been brought on 'Distant Satellites'(2014) Well done Liverpudlians!
