ANATOLII vs ASH - IPF WORLDS 2024

WHAT A BATTLE between the ukraine lifter Anatolii Novopysmennyi and american lifter Ashton Rouska! They fought for the world title with every kilo they had in them and ended up with the same total, divided by bodyweight.
A lot was at stake with this: the world title, the Sheffield 2025 invite and the ticket to the 2025 World Games.

Still.. it could’ve been the determining factor. Side view was OBVIOUSLY HIGH. About 2 inches high… but the “strictest” refs needed a competition I guess..

Ashton pulls one day conventional one day sumo in a training week, he says he's saving his conventional for sheffield since it's his preferred stance. He's also missed a weight sumo on his second attempt and then lifted it conventional on his third in meets in the past
