Modern blades are made mainly of alloyed steel Kh6VF.
The heat resistance of such steel is quite sufficient for the manufacture of cutters for gentle operation on small machines.
It is shown how such a cutter works. I cut off the duralumin. I'm cutting bronze. I cut steel.
It is shown how to quickly make such a cutter.
I take a canvas with a thickness of 0.6 mm. I break off with pliers a piece about 60 mm long.
As a holder I take any cutter. And I just glue the hacksaw blade to the body of this cutter with CA500 instant glue.
Finally I sharpen the cutter with a drill.
I sharpen on the front and back surfaces.
I maintain the rear angle within 6-10 °, and the front angle - 3-5 °
With such a narrow cutter, grooves can also be made, for example, for retaining rings.
Grooving of a retaining ring groove is shown.
It would be possible to thin an ordinary cutter to this size, but this is problematic.
It is easier to make such a home-made cut-off very narrow cutter from a simple hacksaw blade.
