Great video and love your drawings. However, I think the glossopharyngeal nerve is the sensory portion of the gag reflex while the vagus nerve is the motor component.

love your videos! but the eye you've drawn isn't the left one. It's the right one, from lateral, since the superior oblique goes through the medial trochlea.

Tear glands are innervated by n. Lacrimalis, originating from the n. Ophthalmica (NV1), right? And also, at 06:04, you said that NIIX also has MOTOR branches to the parotic gland, but there are no movements made by the parotic gland. What you mean is parasympatic branches, for saliva secretion.

Important for PTs to know that CN8 (vestibulo-cochlear) is two different sensory nerves. The Vestibular fibers control balance and the Coclear fibers control hearing.

Great video. I was originally searching for videos on the facial nerves, but I had t check this one out when I saw it was by you cuz I really like your videos. I would be really interested to learn about the history of how the specific function and areas of innervation of these nerves was discovered. Ie through anatomical dissection, studying disorders affecting these nerves, experimentation on animals? Or a bit of everything?

The explanation was very good But some of the words were not clear enough and the diagram was crowded as During the explanation more details were added. Would appreciate to watch a video specifically on the brain and its functions. Sometimes I developed a strong pain at the Medulla area and at the same time, it was associated with neck and shoulder pain, strong lower back pain and bloating of stomach, loss of appetite and various other issues. The doctors didn't give a specific reason and did various tests . It added up to the medical costs but no apparent releif or explanation to me as to what could be the cause. I am ever so grateful for all the medical experts and Doctors who upload such videos , thereby educate the public free of charge which in my opinion is the most beautiful gift of sharing your knowledge for the benefit of society and a meritorious deed.

Great video overall! Remember that the vestibulocochlear nerve (CN 8) also contains sensory information... it was only drawn as motor. Thanks for summary!
@ashley32557 жыл бұрын
no. it's purely sensory, which is what he indicated (blue)
@georgev13507 жыл бұрын
Whoops, my bad, thanks for correction! :) My prof has been drawing motor in blue and sensory in red so I've been getting the two confused.
@madsam94033 жыл бұрын
Guys I guess common sense should prevail in the end vestibulocochlear supples the inner ear where there’s no motor controls obviously ! I think that itself should imply it’s gonna be only a sensory nerve
