I prefer “friend” to “fawn” - there’s a great scene in the novel “Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk” in which the elderly Lillian on her solo walk through Manhattan on New Years Eve encounters some would-be muggers and instead of taking flight, freezing or fighting, she befriends the young men (no fawning). When I think of the non-reactivity espoused in the yoga sutras, I think this “friend” response has to be closest to it. Thanks for another great talk!
