Brilliant, this. This is what KZbin should be for. As a diabetic who plays football, I was deeply concerned that the injury I had picked up might in fact be sural nerve injury / diabetic neuropathy. After watching your sural nerve video, however, and watching the peroneal brevis tendon video here, it's put a lot of my mind at rest as I wait for an actual checkup. Thank you for sharing this knowledge!

Thank you so much for this video... I'm sure all MD's know this in med school, but seems some forget it. Patient today has to be as knowledgeable as doctor to make sure they aren't just doing "checklist" medicine, but actually thinking about what is presenting.

Very informative. Thank you. I've got over 30 years of tennis on my right ankle, and after my MRI, looks like I'll be going into a soft cast for at least 30 days: (1) Longitudinal split tear of the peroneus brevis from the level of the retromalleolar groove to the peroneal tubercle; (2) interstitial tearing involving the noninsertional and insertional portions of the Achilles tendon. Had the shoulder done also, when it rains it pours -- (1) Low-grade partial thickness articular surface tear at the insertion of the infraspinatus tendon measuring 6x4 mm (anteroposterior, transverse).

Possibly could be merged with the Peroneus Longus video. Good work.

A deep cut in the sole of my left foot never healed properly. I was very young & didn't do therapy after it healed. But that left ankle would easily sprain during dance class & now during aerobics. I'm sure it will be hard to reverse 30+ years of stepping , standing, running, jumping , etc incorrectly but at least this video broke it down & now I understand that INTENSE NAGGING BURNING sensation I feel when walking on uneven platforms on that side. It's too tight. It healed & I never corrected the stiffness. Especially when I wear heels. Hard muscle to get to that brevis. Hopefully my therapist can give me stretches. The foam roller it too painful , even just to sit it on top of the rolled. Tender! For years. After exercise, its warm to the touch so I do foot ice baths. I dont want it to pop. I walk at least 15,000 steps daily. Will let heal & seek professional help. Thanks KZbin
