Omigosh, TY SOOO MUCH! I've watched a TON of videos aside from professor lecture=> NOBODY explains this as well as YOU! FINALLY understand:) I haven't found 1 vid that explained the Estrogen Dip, (Dominant Follicle), nor "where exactly" C.L. takes over production.. Nor did anyone explain "where/how/what" pos+ feedback loop worked & where on graph.. Also learned HOW LH surge "actually" happens.. TY! TY! TY!

Sometimes it takes time for unfamiliar topics to sink in! Your brain has to get used to all the new words and ideas. I'm assuming you're a student, if so, my recommendation is that you spend some time today memorizing the basic facts. " What are the 3 phases of the ovarian cycle? The uterine cycle? What hormones are released from the ovary during each part of their of the ovarian cycle? What hormones are released from each endocrine organ?" Then start adding on the more complicated stuff " what does each hormone do?" Etc etc. Once you know more of the basic facts/ some of the plot points... go back to the video again and see if the story makes sense. And don't forget to pause frequently to take notes on anything new or unfamiliar. If it doesn't, try again the next day. Your brain cements memories while you're sleeping, so sometimes you just have to sleep on it.

@AnatomyHero Жыл бұрын
@@JenniferMoses-sb9mr sorry Jennifer, I am not a doctor and can't give you medical advice or opinions! There are many disorders that can affect ovulation and cause irregular periods, many of which are caused by disruptions in the endocrine system (such as polycystic ovarian syndrome or under or overactive thyroid), so please talk to your family doctor or gynecologist about seeking the care of an endocrinologist if you haven't already done so! Best wishes, I hope you get the answers that you need!

I'm not a doctor, but it could be a lot of different things, maybe hormonal, maybe not. My best advice to you is to speak to your primary care physician and/or gynecologist so that they can order the appropriate tests and/or refer you to the appropriate type of doctor. You may also want to consider tracking your symptoms/cycle if you don't already. Best of luck, I hope you get the answers you need.

Chat gpt said uterus produces hormones.
@AnatomyHero Жыл бұрын
I looked it up, and it does look like estrogen is produced by the uterus during pregnancy, but that's a relatively new discovery (circa 2009). Sometimes these things take a while to get into textbooks...for now I believe most curriculums would align with what I've said, but always refer back to your source materials. Here's the article I've found: www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/07/090720190724.htm#:~:text=For%20decades%2C%20scientists%20assumed%20that,needed%20to%20sustain%20the%20pregnancy. Also, be careful with chatGPT and physiology! I love chatGPT and for the most part I've found it to be accurate...but I've found it is especially prone to mistakes with complex physiological pathways...mixing up cause and effect, incorrectly stating the direction a variable is changing...it's usually small things, but if you're just learning it could be confusing.

What is the role of testosterone in the ovarian and menstrual cycle. Ovaries or eggs release more testosterone?

Slow and steady. I would try stopping after each slide (or every 6-8 new concepts) and writing down as much from memory as you can, then go back and listen one more time. I would also consider taking a second to skim through whatever your book says, or whatever your professor 's notes say before moving on. Sometimes it takes a day or two to understand these really complicated physiology topics. Once you start getting some of the basic facts in your long-term memory, it will be easier to follow.
