Also, it helps so much that you explain the Latin roots of the names. It really helps in remembering the names as they relate to the parts.

cannot imagine how it would be to search books and find the page you were studying from when you wanted to review anatomy. I thought med school now was difficult, but that sounds like hard work.

Everybody luvs ye, lad. :) I wish I'd had this 25 years ago, embarking on study of psychology -- I am a bit spatially impaired, and I had a hell of a bad time visualizing these structures in three dimensions. There were no programs back then that rotated the images like this. A great addition to the study tools for a vital but complex topic.

Great starting place for cross-sectional anatomy. When you spin the image around in 3D, it helps you to get an understanding of the planes in which the structures lie. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you. Clears a lot of things up that get confused looking at 2-D illustrations. One point. The epithalamus is an important part of the dienchephalon connecting the pineal gland to the rest of the brain including the hypothalamus, giving credence to it being not only the "Third Eye", but also the "Master Gland". It looks kind of like a tail ending in the pineal gland in this 3-D video of the brain. The pineal gland is considered to be a part of the epithalamus.

if you type in the search bar of Zygote Body "brain", it will isolate the brain and you can then "pin" it as well. Can be a bit tricky sometimes isolating certain structures!

This is what the best part of the Internet looks like. Remarkable when you think of what was available to the average person just a few years before the Internet and the World Wide Web really took off fueled by deregulation of the U.S. military network and the innovation and source material provided by all the great knowledge centers of the world.

9:30 but our neuroscience professor said that was the lateral *fissure* (fissura lateralis Sylvii) and then emphasised the difference between the sulci and fissurae, saying they are created differently during brain development (something about fissurae being created by overlapping where the cortex is thinner?, not really sure, haven't studied that part yet)

Thanks so much for this walkthrough - so helpful! Are you able to share what software you are using for the 3-D model? I would love to find a version of that for further exploration, something about the 3-D visual helps my brain understand these structures soooo much more than any 2-D picture. And I love how you are able to cut away specific structures, even just on one side or the other, to really get at where things are and how they are all connected.

Also if anyone else reading this has links to software (hopefully not too expensive) that offers that feature of getting to show/disappear certain structures at will, that would be awesome!
