I got one of these. It’s a little tricky to update. I did clone the entire firmware/software updates onto a new SanDisk card because the included card is just a no name brand. I have heard rumors that those corrupt. I own an Anbernic RG405m and a Miyoo A30 in addition to this. All of those machines are great but this one is a good size and weight for longer gaming session. Great audio and screen size. It’s really comfortable to use. Button placement is great. Easy to expand your rom collection by having a second TF slot. Linux OS is very stable and includes a file manager. It can play PSX games very well. N64 is so so. But for everything older than PSX it runs pretty flawless with a little tweaking for whatever content you’re playing.

I can’t wait for GarlicOS beta. It should turn this from being a good handheld into an AWESOME one. If you own an RG35XX H make sure you drop Black-Seraph a Patreon donation so that he makes it a priority to work on his custom firmware. It should be as good as OnionOS was for the Miyoo Mini, if not better. 😉

The Koriki Batocera build works pretty well for my RG35XX H. I’ll probably try out garlic 2.0 If it ever really gets going but for now I’m not unhappy with the firmware

Great review. It does look too small for me though. My hands started cramping just watching you play on it. I bet it would be great for my 5 yr old though

There are several other OS available for this device including Garlic 2.0, Batocera Lite, etc. Any chance you'd be willing to do a walkthrough for these other devices and possibly their installation (or links to tutorials for their installations)?

I can say from personal experience, this thing good, but the stock card sucks and OS, while serviceable, is mediocre at best. Unfortunately there are still no good third-party OS options. Garlic OS is still in alpha for it ... and progressing rather slowly. It has been in alpha for months now. Batocera is "okay" but not quite ready for prime time.

You’re exactly 100% correct. I have mine running on updated 64 gig Anbernic firmware. It works fine, but Garlic should take it to another level. Koriki Batocera Lite isn’t there yet. I tried it out but didn’t like it. Not intuitive at all. I went back to stock firmware.
