Corrections For M64Plus FZ, in the settings sidebar after you've created your controller mapping, go to Profiles > Select Profiles > Controller 1 Profile and choose the mapping you created. For Dolphin MMJR, to change the Emulated Cpu Clock Speed to work, you have to click the checkmark above for "Override Emulated CPU Clock Speed" To get Daijisho to respect your save states for standalone Duckstation, and load automatically into your save state from it, you need version Duckstation0-1-4582. Newest one broke that functionality. For PS2, you might want to try leaving EE Cycle Rate & Skip at 0 first then adjusting like my video afterwards for games that don't work. For ReDream, you might have an issue where it says not compatible for this device in the Play Store, feel free to grab the APK directly from here: apkpure.com/redream/io.recompiled.redream

Question: i followed your guide and stuff is working fine. Thanks for that. But now everytime i turn it on, there is an update available for the system. Can i update safely or should i not? I dont want to lose all the settings as they took a long time to inplement.

I have not, as I've applied the 60hz and oversharpening fix, and that update breaks it. But from what I understand, the update doesn't reset anything and should be safe to install.

I am going to add in some possible hot key alternatives. The one thing I loved about the linux builds with anbernic devices was the function hotkey enabler capabilities. Android won't let me remap the back button, but then I really thought, why do I need a hotkey enabler. So, now my hotkeys are just loating out there. Menu = L3+R3 Quit= Start+Select Save=R2 Load=L2 FF=right analog right Rewind= right analog left pause= R3 Mute=L3 I have found this so unobtrusive and functional, I'm loving it. It didn't work when I used retroarch for PS1, but now I am moving to duckstation and this works perfect for all 8+16 bit games

For whatever reason I just cannot get Gamma OS to install via my laptop (and I bought the 405M for that) but this video has got me close enough that this is now by far my favourite handheld (I've had the 353M, Miyoo Mini Plus and Retroid Pocket 3+). The build quality is unreal, the D Pad is perfect and if you're happy with the 4:3 era this is getting close to perfection. I'd still stack the shoulder buttons for the few games that need them (although I've just been customising the controls to move accelerate/brake to the buttons on Dreamcast racing games) and as 4:3 device I would have loved for the stick and pad to be swapped around, but it's a wonderful thing overall.

If you got the RG405M recently and you're wondering why you can't drag to remove the home apps like he does around the 3:10 mark, it's because you have to tap and hold the home screen, go to home settings, home screen, and select "with app drawer".

I'm even using my 2nd RG351V SD card (running AmberELEC) to play games. I just made new folders for ps2 gamecube wii and 3ds and no problems! I can even swap it back to the 351V and it still works.

A couple of points to note. Yaba Sanshiro 2 only lets you change your directory in the pro version, not the free version. Also you can avoid ads in Aethersx2 by playing offline; this only depends on whether you want to disconnect from wifi when playing PS2 or not. But great video regardless, feels good to finally have more stable PS2 framerates.

I had a few issues with mine, I powered down and when I turned it back on again, my SD card needed reformatting and everything crashed every five seconds. So I reset it and since removing the questionable apps (apptoide, APKPure) and inbuilt emulators, I've had no such issue. Now I can install Minecraft and others on Google Play no problem and haven't lost the games I spent hours ripping from my Dreamcast collection again. Though I still love this handheld now it works, glad it was my first foray into retro devices.

I tried to back up the card that came with this and while it seemed that the games transferred, when I put the copied card in and go to access them on the console, it says "Game not found"... When I put the original card in, it seems to work fine. Are there size limitations on these cards? Any suggestions?

Hey, so you won't be able to update them via play store, and some of the apps are pirated, so doesn't support the Devs either. It'll also be set to their settings, which may or may not be good.

I would like to add a quick note for those searching for the answer to this issue. The rg405m's gamma os file explorer will show the dolphin apk linked as a bin file, and to fix this you need to download a second file explorer. I used cx file explorer and it worked fine afterward.

For Citra MMJ, I set the wrong input binding for the Settings (used the B button) and when I try to clear the setting, the B button is still mapped to Settings. I also tried clearing cache, clearing storage, uninstalling/reinstalling. However, the B button is still mapped to Settings. How do I get rid of this binding?

Awesome video. I had no idea what I was doing when I bought this device and this got me up and running. On a slightly unrelated note, do you have any idea how to get the trigger inputs to work when playing on Xbox cloud? It registers all button inputs (including bumpers) except for triggers.

Don't worry. I'm 62 and planning on debloating my pretty, new RG405M a weekend or two from now (I can see it will take a few hours). I'm still using (and will continue to use) my RG351V. You'll get attached to your retro handheld. And, addressing your concerns, I suspect the Anbernic user community will come up with some more refined setups during the coming months. Keep an eye on the forums, such as Reddit.

Great guide! I just have one question regarding Daijisho as default home launcher in the game mode. It just does not work. As saw in the video, I have tried to set it in the settings of both "normal mode" and "game mode", but it always goes back to RG Launcher, which I can't uninstall. Any advice? Greetings from Italy.

Hey, might be some confusion. Setting daijisho as home makes it so the home button takes you back to daijisho always, as well as booting up the device. Swiping down and selecting game mode will always go to RG Launcher, can't change that.

The worst case scenario is you have to factory reset, but if you're uncomfortable changing things, you can stay on default. It just isn't the best experience.

Im hoping you can help me? I have the 405M and keep getting this error: 'RGLauncher Error". There is a button on the Botton to restart APP, but it's not clickable. No clue how to resolve that issue and the thing doesn't work without resetting it. I tried to force stop it, restarted game and still nothing.

Aloha - I'm relatively new to the retro scene (Have a Retro Pi 3 and the SNES Retro system) and am wondering where I should put my GameCube ROMS on the SD card that came with my 505. Do I need to create a folder called "GCI" and simply copy the images to that folder? I am using the Dolphin emulator that came preinstalled and the Ambernic front end for everything else. Mahalo in advance for any suggestions you might have :)

Hey, welcome. I don't have the 505, but the process is basically the same everywhere. Put your GC roms anywhere you'd like, and in Dolphin, just point it to that directory. Same thing for the Anbernic frontend, open the GC platform page, bottom left settings cog, then Game settings top, and pick your directory. The GCI folder in Dolphin is for saves.

This was easier to set up than expected - thank you! This is a long shot, but I received my RG405M a few days ago and on occasion, the screen starts doing ghost inputs where there are random screen touch presses. When it happens, it's very hard to override and control it in order to restart or shutdown the device which seems to clear the issue. I've seen a few reddit posts about it and I'm on the fence if this is something I can fix / live with, or should just do a return/exchange. It's not often that it happens and I can't nail down what triggers this weird behavior.

I can't find a way to get retroarch to read my sd card. It seems restricted to the internal memory. Have I missed something?

Was your SD card formatted within Android? Retroarch can see sd cards without issue, but if you're following my video it's not needed. We aren't using retroarch in that way.

No, you don't. You'll just have an out of date app so worse performance.

Quick question, everything is working except for GBA games. When I click on a game the screen just goes black, then nothing. I have to exit out of the app with the hime button, then I get a msg saying Retroarch is not responding. All the other retroarch cores work fine. Any ideas would be appreciated?? Oh and the games work when I start them from Retroarch, just not directly from Daijisho? Edit. Nevermind, I hadn't changed the default player in Daijisho. Sorted now 🤦

Sounds like you don't have daijisho pointing to the right core in retroarch. Check the daijisho part of the guide for linking platforms to emulators.

Hi Joey, great video. How do I set up Mame to use the 2010 core? I updated retro arch with the core but when I try to select it from the settings when I am in Mame via the default front end, the only cores that it allows me to select is Mame2003 plus and Mame (current), whatever that is. Is there anything I am doing wrong or missing? Thank you very much indeed for any help on this :)

Hey, sorry I don't use the default frontend. Should be a settings cog on the platform page and likely the setting to change the emulator there.

There's only one slot, so one works! I use a 1TB, 512GB works too.

I don't use their front end, but you would likely need to point each platform page to the right emulator after. RGC has a great video for their frontend: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGecpKN7e7J3iaM
