The frontend won't even read my sd wven though I got Rufus to format it and got the folders on it. Also, if I select read tf card it just restarts the frontend

I deleted the stock drastic emulator and downloaded it from the app store. Now when I open nds games with the front end, it opens drastic menu but not the game. You have to manually do that now. It sucks, please help!

Hey, I've been struggling to find the images for my roms and finally understood how the images for the stock fron end works. I have created a python script to scrape images from the internet and automatically create the folders and saving the images. Not sure if this info is useful but please let me know as I have been trying other front ends, scrapping, etc. but in the end the stock front end is what it would be nice it would just work out of the box right?

Hey man, still working on it. I believe I would also have to add an xml file in that folder so that I can add some extra information about the game. Do you feel comfortable with github, python, etc? Gussing I can write also a good md in case some people are looking forward to have it too

RG405/505 series switch to gammaOS. RG556, go daijisho or es-de. The stock software on these kinds of devices is always lacking.

How come when i add new roms, then add thumbnails inside images folder, using same name as the rom, new game works but theres no thumbnail? never had this issue with my other handhelds.

Put the thumbnails in a folder called IMAGES in the same folder as the roms. Also If you want video previews of the games that you have previously scraped, you put them in a folder called VIDEOS in the same folder with the roms. You will than have to rescan the entire sd card again like in the video.

How do you play Sega GameGear roms? There's no GG emulator present, and none of the other Sega emulators recognize GG ROMs.

Any idea how to get rid of the numbers? Just copied the default card onto a Sandisk card, removed all the rom numbers, loaded the card back in to my cube and did a scan and low and behold the numbers are still there.

I am trying to get Game Gear games to show up in the stock frontend, I put the games in the provided GAMEGEAR folder on the sd and rescan but the GG option doesn't show up in the front end. I went into retroarch and downloaded the GG cores but still no luck after a rescan. How do I get GG or any other system that retroarch supports to show up? Thanks.

I could not figure out how to add more box art. I would recommend using something like Daijisho or ES-DE if you are wanting to get into customizing your setup more.

Hey dude great vid. How do i get box art to be visible in the launcher for new roms that i have added? Ive just grabbed a couple for PS2 games and have updated box art thru aether but not sure how to make them visible with the frontend launcher ? Cheers dude

I might have mentioned it in the video but maybe not. I spent a good hour trying to get it to work and it would require way more time and effort than what its worth to get working. If would be a better use of your time to get one of the other frontends like Daijisho for free or Emulation station for 5$. I think the stock frontend is just a good starting point before moving on to one of these other frontends.

Just use ES-DE frontend, it's for more superior than Anbernic's crappy frontend

Question. My 405m has stock Frontend , but doesn’t show GameCube as a section . I can only play those in the dolphin app in android. Any way too add that to the front end or should I upgrade to gamma OS? Thanks !

Something I have noticed with the Stock frontend is that it has Gamecube and Wii combined as one system, because they both use Dolphin. Depending on the theme you are using you my see it show up and GC/Wii or just Wii. Gamma OS is great and I would recommend using it if that is something you want to spend the time to setup.

I cant start my 3ds game thru rglauncher after i update those citra apps. Do you know how to fix it? And if i try to format the rg556,will i get back the stock apps that first come in the box? I updated all the old apps to new one and this happen to me Also the retroarch unuseable after update to new one

Yeah, It seems like that RGlauncher was made for the exact version that come stock. I thought it was possible to add more however I have not found a way. Yes you can do a factory reset from the Android settings and it will go back to its Stock state with all the original apps. If you are wanting to use the new updated apps and want a good free frontend I would recommend Daijisho from the app store.

As far as I know there is no easy way to add more systems to the stock frontend.

Not sure why that would be, I have used rufus with 1tb sd cards. You might want to try another SD card reader.

So you can add more emulators to the handheld itself by downloading them from the play store or side loading them. Now for the Anbernic Frontend I'm not sure if that is something you can do. If you want more customization like that I recommend checking out Daijisho or Emulation Station for Android (ES-DE)
