The Ancheer electric mountain bike is only $615 on Amazon. Is an affordable eBike useable and reliable? I have always wanted one of these bikes, but have been reluctant to make the purchase, because there is lots that can go wrong with an electric bicycle. The idea of buying one online or at Walmart left me worrying I wouldn't be able to get parts or even replacement batteries. Ancheer changes all that. This is an entry level eBike that Ancheer builds at a surprisingly good quality for the price, but they also stock the parts needed should you encounter issues - some are even stocked in the USA for quick shipment. Plus, they have additional batteries available for purchase. There are cheap eBikes out there that you can't even get batteries for, so the availability helps make the decision to go with an Ancheer eBike a bit easier.
As you can see in the video, I was pleased with the experience on this bike. It provides near-effortless pedaling, even on the toughest hills in town. I also found the range to be quite good. Even during the 40 degree days we were having in my first week with the bike.
The bike speedometer you see on the stem is something I added. It is not included with the bike.
The good:
It's cheap!
Reliable so far
Higher than expected build quality
Smooth assisted acceleration
Pure electric mode where you don't even have to pedal
The not so good:
The mechanical disc brakes are cheapish
The reversed braking levers take some getting used to
Not every area allows eBikes
A small bit of shipping damage meant I had to fix something
Overall, I'm beyond pleased. This has opened a can of worms as I now really like eBiking. What do you think about this bike and the idea of an eBike in general?

I am probably a bit biased here. I have an e-bike that I built. I think e-bikes done correctly could make cycling go mainstream for a lot of people. I myself am disabled. Riding would be a no go for me without my e-bike. I average around 300 to 400 miles a month on mine. Panniers and a basket on the front let me do about 90% of my running around and shopping now. My car gets about a 100 miles a month now. I live in a mid sized midwestern city appx. 150k people. Town is 15 miles across. I have a 36v 350 watt front motor on mine , 13 ah battery. At 210lbs I get about 40 miles per charge. I've never had a problem city riding with setup. Off roading use a 1kv with 52v 20ah setup.

I'm getting up to that point now with our Radcity. We've been kicking around the idea of making an electric recumbent bike. I have had an obsession with those kinds of bikes since I was a kid. Even just a recumbent would be awesome. We just got back from a 25 mile ride and the battery didn't come off of full. It's got a 14 Ah battery at 48 v. We use our Fit once a month, maybe. Otherwise we bike everywhere, all of our bikes are fitted with a hitch for our bike trailer. It's just cheaper to use a bike over the car. Cheaper to repair the bikes.

You know what's interesting? If anyone asked for opinions online about ebikes as recently as a year ago the comments would have been 75 to 90 percent bashing by the cycle snobs (AKA MAMILS). Now it's more like the other way around. It's good to see. Anything that gets more people riding, riding more, and using bikes for practical purposes in their everyday lives is a good thing for all of us.

*Hey, I brought a 250W one from Amazon on May 1, 2020 for $657.19, because I didn't want to use anymore manual bikes to get me from the house to the job & from the job to the house, since May 1, 2020 to-date I've had two collisions with vehicles & the most recent crash on my way to the job was only one week ago & it was a nasty crash, I thought I was going to be killed, but thankful God arranged it where instead of impacting the vehicle in the front which would've been deadly, I God arranged it where I hit the vehicle on the side, my body & my Ancheer bike experienced physical damage, my bike handlebar was twisted, the front fork got twisted too which took great strength / force to do, my bike light got broken off, my battery got ripped off & was laying in the street with my body & one of my steel-toe boots, but nonetheless I still fixed my bike on the sidewalk to the best of my abilities & I rode it to the job.... Anyway, I rode it 30 miles, 14 miles, etc the frame is heavy, solid & after two collisions with vehicles it's not bent far-less cracked in anyway, shape, form, or fashion, presently I happily say I still ride it to the job, market, etc & regardless to the different wattages I would happily recommend the unfoldable Ancheer to anyone.*

I have the next step up Ancheer , 350 watt , and I'm 63 with Stage 3 COPD. I couldn't ride a regular bike. I had a flare up from riding my regular bike too hard , flare up is like heart attack. So I got the Ancheer Sunrise e-bike.I got stupid again and rode too hard , even with the e-bike and had an attack I used the thumb button for no peddle assist and made it home. Fantastic bike , my opinion. Very good quality. My battery is all black and square looking.Looks modern.Everything is heavy duty. Comes with a welded kickstand. Like the guy said everything works. And works perfectly. I paid $660.00 for mine for 100 more watts in the motor. For a high quality, inexpensive e-bike, look no further. Ancheer is a winner.

If you ever want to get into custom builds or modification let me know. As for the waterbottle battery in this video... well its low quality battery weighs way to much for 36v 8 AH my custom frame bag battery is 52v (58.8v terminal) and 32 AH. I think eBikes have their place on the market and their use case is justified. I appreciate that you did this for the guys who are buying it. Hell i would never think theres a 600$ ebike! I think this is awesome! And i believe youve lwft the upgrade suggestions, fork, fit etc. for the next video ;)

I think eBikes are good for the bike industry, mainly getting more people riding. For myself, I'd probably get one under a few conditions, such as commuting extremely long distance every day, or if I owned a cargo bike and hauling heavy things long distance. Thanks for your review!

What's the point, though? If I didn't want to pedal I'd get a motorcycle. Hell, you could probably take a Zero FX on a sideewalk since it's so friggin' quiet.

Oh no they won't because its a motorized vehicle. Its the future of motorcycling and they are excellent as transportation vehicles, but make no mistake that they are no different than a moped or motorcycle. Test ride the new mountain e bikes and ask what type bicycle will do 50 miles up the side of a mountain with a out of shape dude that's barely breathing hard. There is no type of bicycle because the human element is missing. They have already hacked all these motors and many of them will do 30m.p.h up a hill.

I have the ancheer bike and it is my daily commuter to work. I have probably put at least a thousand miles on this bike in the past year. I ride at least 50 miles a week to work and I would probably ride another 60 to 70 miles a week going back and forth to the gym. most of the time I rides his bike all around town I just don't even get in my car. I put me a cargo rack on the back of it and I go grocery shopping with it. I will easily cruise around town in his bike ride to work I'm not all sweaty. For $615 this is wale worth the money I would recommend this by to anybody. On the other side I am building myself my own electric fatbike cuz I want to be able to use that in the winter that's the only downside to the end cheer is that you in the winner of those small tires won't work so I'm building me a fatbike for the winter. Ancheer makes her pretty good bike and I would recommend it for anybody.

I built one with a front wheel 1000watt 48volt 20ah set up with over 2300 miles on it. I cruise at 30mph with pedaling, around 25 not pedaling and avg. 20mph for at least 2 hours on a charge. Next bike will be 1500watt rear (front one is too heavy), and have stronger brakes and suspension as I have broken the frame, seat post, rims, and went through several brake sets. Too much fun!

Kev just an fyi on the brake cables. Post the pinch point in the calliper they shouldn’t be longer than 30mm, due to the chance of the cable getting snagged in the rotor. This is a Shimano tech recommendation.

Front brake lever on the left, rear on the right, is standard for bicycles. Motorcycles have the front brake lever on the right, clutch lever on the left, is standard. This is because the throttle twist grip is on the right, and a natural movement is to rotate the throttle twist grip back to idle as the driver opens his hand to grab the front brake lever. When I had a motorcycle I swapped my bicycle brake levers so that the front brake levers of both vehicles were on the same side (right).

Of course I have not heard of the bike you just reviews which tells me I have more looking still. I know a guy that rides a Trek E-bike to work everyday, about 16-18 kilometers (10-12 miles) each way. Having arthritis and a couple other issues, it means he can enjoy the sport he loves without overexerting himself and not being able to get to work. If I remember right, he sold his car, meaning it is his go to vehicle. IMO, E-bikes provide that kind of future. The Acheer seems like a standard BB bike with an E-bike conversion kit. I'm wondering if it would be more cost-effective buying an E-bike conversion kit and sticking it to a BB bike which, minus the other parts, would mean the same thing.
