This 25 mile longboarding trip was well worth it. I took the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail from Downtown Anchorage to Kincaid Park, a smooth 9 mile path full of natural beauty.

I am in my 70's now and pretty much housebound. Taking this trip with you today has been the highlight of the month. I have you on my big flat screen TV and it's like being there. Thank you for the wonderful adventure. I love you both, and of course the babies. The dog and the cats.

Hi Cory, I just wanted to say that I've always loved watching your vlogs and videos, and recently watching them have really given me joy and hope in life and that I will have a future. My girlfriend recently just broke up with me, and in less than a month I'm moving from Dallas TX to Southern California for college, and that's going to be such a huge change for me; not only living on my own for the first time, but also being so far away from home as well. Even though it's by choice, I couldn't help to be nervous and scared about it, and doing it while being heartbroken doesn't help. But seeing that you've taken a big change, and how happy it's made you, it's truly given me hope that hopefully I'll be feeling the same way, and that this change for me will be exciting and new, instead of scary and dreadful. Thanks Cory for spreading your happiness to others like me. Andrew

Wow. I totally missed this the first time around. Although I didn't start watching until several weeks after this, I went back to your move when I found your Alaska videos. I've been trying to figure what's different about your videos now (besides the obvious, kids, Oklahoma etc.) These vlogs seem freer. Not just in the sense you had more freedom because you didn't have kids so much, but less overly polished. You just did whatever, and didn't seem like you were so worried about packaging it. I do really miss your exploring. I know that really is something you can't do so much anymore and granted, here you had a whole new place to explore. Still you talked about all the different things in Oklahoma before you moved and we haven't really seen much of it.

for all the people that don't see the 71' in the eagle, it's not in the claws it is in the right leg of the eagle above the claw, if you look at the left leg you will see a lot more lines in it, try to compare the left leg to the right leg and you should see it, hope this helps.

Longboarding in with no good plan out is how they make all those mysterious skeletons found in the woods... Nice music cue for dreamy-eyed wonder. Considering how long I've been watching, it's easy to forget that you're a filmmaker. Yes, sure-- I know you spend extra time and equipment on your more serious (albeit occasionally goofy) shoots-- but this is you with a stalk-mounted GoPro and your editing suite. So that's nice. Still very much enjoying these travelogues. Interesting question about detecting. I would ask around, there may be local ordinances against it. But it is salvage. On the other hand, these were businesses and households-- are you ready for what you find? Also, they should be pretty deep, between the original jumble and openings then all these years' overgrowth.

Cory, fair warning. Maybe you already know this, but those plants you show at 4:30 look very much like plants we in the Netherlands call "Bear Claws". There is a reason we call them that and that is because they have poison on them. Touching them will give you a pain resembling that of a bear attack. Falling into these plants could, in extreme cases, even kill you. So be careful with those! :) (I only give you this warning because you seemed to not knwo these plants judging from your words) Also: Stop making me jealous! I want to roadtrip so baaaaad XD

The only problem I see with the metal detecting is I don't know if you would get in trouble for it. A lot of Alaska is federally protected forests and I dunno if its against the law to dig up land. I know you have to be extremely careful when you go gold panning cause in some rivers you can't high bank and others you can. But in all honesty I think you would be ok with metal detecting. I'm so glad you are loving it up here, it's such a beautiful state, I have lived here all my life and my breath still gets taken away by the scenery
