Nice looking anchor. Should allow for more sound sleep I suspect. Loved watching the doggos running and playing with the occasional circle back to "Mom and Dad" to be sure they're alright. All the best to you guys...

I’m thinking of getting a Mantis for a backup anchor. My Main Anchor though will always be an oversized genuine Lewmar Delta after the stunning performance of mine during a pretty extreme Tornado Storm- I was in the Harbour of Refuge in Rhode Island, and got really clobbered Hard. The Reason is that the Anchor will fail and will push out sideways when you need to fail to save you and your boat. Mine was on the end of all chain with a Snubber, and the first Tornado hit so hard on the Starboard side, that the VHF Aerial on the top of the mast was under water on the port side, the Port side deck was awash, and was getting to the edge of the Cockpit and a smidgen short of a capsize, there was a bang as the anchor pushed out, and the mast went vertical and the anchor alarm started screaming. So starting the engine, I was able to fly the anchor between the boats behind me, got into clear water and reset it with no problem. The Anchor is really just a Rocna without a hoop ? Beware of Fakes Though. Admittedly rare, but an anchor that holds too securely can be a boat costing Liability, I want one that can be weak when you really need it to be weak. I don’t think many people ever look at Anchors with that perspective tbh.🤔 Best Wishes. Bob.👍🌟🌟🌟❤️⛵️

A Thermal Monocular would be great in fog and other times of weather, also in the $300us price range. Again nice to have when looking out for pirates. 🎉

True. It’s not often we have experienced fog, but it sure made us consider some additional forms of detection.

So glad you all came to St Marys on your way south! While we don’t have clear blue water, warm sand, and bathing suit weather, we like to think we make up for it with our southern hospitality!

Thank you so much for having us. We will see you in our way back up. 👍👍👍

I have the 45 lb. Mantis for my 36 foot boat, and it has held very well. One thing, though, it's "Anchors Aweigh," not "Anchors Away." It refers to weighing anchor which means to hoist the anchor up. When the anchor no longer touches the bottom of the sea, it is "aweigh."

So great to hear. Any issues you’ve noticed so far in terms of what substrate it doesn’t hold well in?
