ANCIENT 1926 MANUALLY CONTROLLED Otis Traction Elevator at The Professional Building, Bradenton, FL

First and Foremost, I want to wish you all a VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!! I hope your Turkey Dinner is GREAT!!! And HUGE THANKS for 2,000 SUBSCRIBERS!!!! I couldn't have done it without each and every one of you, and of course, WE MUST CELEBRATE WITH SOMETHING ANCIENT!!!
As for the elevator in the video we are celebrating with, It is AMAZING AND INCREDIBLE!!!! I have to give a HUGE THANKS to the Staff at the Professional Building here in Bradenton for letting me ride AND OPERATE this AMAZING 1926 MANUALLY CONTROLLED OTIS ELEVATOR!!!! And also, HUGE THANKS to Jackson Slater for discovering and telling me about this TREASURE!! This thing is SUPER FAST (around 350-500 FPM FOR 7 FLOORS!!!), and runs like it is BRAND NEW, and the guy ADMITTED this goes faster than the modernized one next to it, proving how superior American built Otis Elevators from the 20s are compared to all of this modern crap that is made today!!!!
I am shocked that with the obnoxious building codes in place here in Florida this thing is still original and running, however, the guy told me that they don't have the funds to upgrade it, and they aren't able to really maintain it, and they have to get new parts for this one on their own, which is hard to do, so they don't have it open or in use that often....only if the modernized elevator next to this one breaks (but they do let enthusiasts like myself ride it if you ask :) ) so being this thing isn't used much, and despite the codes, the odds are in this ones' favor, and this thing should stay original for MANY years to come! Let's just hope it doesn't break! (But they keep it in good condition despite the very strict codes in place and all of the odds against it, and with Manual Elevators using only a few relays to run and with how HIGH QUALITY this thing is, this thing shouldn't break!!!)
Overall, I had an ABSOLUTE BLAST RIDING THIS THING!!! The doors, cab, crank, and EVERYTHING are just GORGEOUS and TOTALLY ORIGINAL from 1926!!!! And the ride quality is SUPER FUN, and this thing is SUPER SMOOTH despite being 92 YEARS OLD And I had a BLAST Operating it too, and watch the whole video to see the guy recording me in the Operator Chair running the elevator!!!!! This was SUCH an AWESOME experience, and if you're ever in Bradenton, be sure to stop by and ask the friendly staff if the building if anyone can take you on this TRULY AMAZING TREASURE!!! It is SUPER EPIC AND ANCIENT, and they will let you OPERATE it (which not many places with Manual Elevators do) and this thing is easy to control with Variable Speeds!!!!

Installed: 1926 (The other elevator was modded/automated, but this thing is TOTALLY ORIGINAL with the Original Motor, Controller, Cranks, Doors, Cabs and EVERYTHING!!! Only thing not original is the ADA phone...)

I know this video is five years old, but thank you for showing this elevator! I'm doing research for a Lackadaisy fanfic, and I wasn't sure what elevators were available in the 1920s, so I started to do some research. This elevator is really cool, and it's fun to learn about things I don't normally think much about!

Wow, this is an amazing manual, it's amazing to find this in a state that thinks safe 90s elevators are old and dangerous, they probably historically protected this one somehow.

Now THIS is an elevator. The ones I normally clean are garbage. Mercy has only a handful of good elevators. I wonder if the controller is made of brass or copper. This is a much better Otis than the ones I clean.
