Shawn(sp?) I LOVE the way the stars above that Eagle Popped out contrasting the black tarnish/mud. Jerry, that oblong button, could that be like a neck button to the top of a lady’s blouse? I can somehow see that with the tall neckline dressing of the day. Great stuff guys!

We always picture how these people would have been dressed when these items were lost. Interesting to think about.

Out here in AZ we have a cabin built by a Kuhn. Don't know if y'all spell it the same. He was a gold miner and helped to establish Quartzsite. I've been to his old cabin and in his old mine. Pretty cool finds. Thanks for sharing.😊

A REALLY interesting site! I have no issue with digging iron targets, anything utilitarian was usually made of iron.

That piece with the star on it is not a saw medallion. It is an unused leather rivet. I find lots of these, used. That's a nice find. If you find one of those annoying little brass/copper "washers", then touch have the other side of the rivet. That would make a nice display item.

It’s mostly private since we detect the forest. Landowners don’t seem to mind when you ask them as long as it’s not hunting season.

If you find a 1877 Indian Head Penny. They worth $1000. I suggest a soft toothbrush and a little bit of water and clean the Indian Head Pennies that way you will not ruin them with your fingertips. I was the Allegheny County Penn Hills historian from 1985 to 2023. This area has black coal dirt and your rubbing objects can do more damage than good.
@detectingpa89685 ай бұрын
Yes, we should be gentler rubbing coins. Often time they come out of the ground toasted. To do it right we would need to take it him and gently clean all the artifacts but we want to make sure we Is the dates while in the field for the viewers.
