Very thought provoking that one Andy. We are looking at brickwork that is nearly 600 years old. It is essential that we hang on to the knowledge that we have in Britain regarding brickwork. Your videos along with a few select others on KZbin, help to preserve our knowledge. It is funny how little is thought of bricklayers in the UK but historical brickwork is valued so highly. People don't seem to make the connection that these buildings were built by humble men like us.

Nice feature on this lovely old building Andy ,I remember it well from the old days when me and my mates used to cycle to Rye House to watch the speedway . I have a question for you . Someone wants a 9 inch wall built at entrance with a wide gate . The wall is to be on a radius with piers at the gate and at the other end . Customer wants the wall to gently sweep up from the first pier to the pier at the gate . I don't know the method for getting the wall to gently and evenly rise up from first pier to second . The wall will be capped with brick on edge . Can you help me please or recommend a good book with this information . Many thanks Andy ,Nick.

@@nickturnbull4105 I make a template from hardboard, Rob Songer has a series of vids on how to do it on his channel from 13 years ago. It would be easier to watch them than me try and explain it 👍

Hi there Andy, I've been asked to price a extension 4m x 7m just a box with about 1800 face bricks and about 300 celcons as I only normally work day work im not used to pricing work Google prices are very varied any idea how much this should be for labour only. Many thanks.
@bricklayersworldwithandy62773 ай бұрын
They are all different Graham, you might have to bring all the materials around the back, maybe some of it is overhand, setting up trestles etc, you just have to work out how long its going to take and charge acordingly.

1400s ! When I was an apprentice at Wigan tech the market hall was flattened to make way for The Galleries shopping centre. It was a traditional build with Red handmade looking brick and blue engineering beautiful to look at , give it a google It had every feature in the book , corbels , arches, oversailers the lot , even a clock tower , it was amazing to look at The whole thing has been flattened so lasted 37 years tops. It was tragic to see , what a waste 🧱💥😔👍🏽
