Man, the Romans didn’t even make it into the Gaelic lands. The other Celtic tribes they managed to fight, but after hearing stories of fire haired, bone stealing, cannibalizing giants beyond the fog, the Roman legions stopped. Good thing, too, or they would have met the Picts, who were one of two tribes that the Gaels feared.

@caleb_güero4 ай бұрын
@@silverkitty2503 Not necessarily true. The earliest account of an encounter between the Romans and the Celts in 390 BC was from a party of Celtic warriors and warlords travelling south through modern day Italy annexing land. They met Roman "ambassadors" in a village, one of the Romans killed a Celtic official, and the Celts travelled towards Rome, following them after they ran away, "with terrifying speed" according to a Roman historian, defeated a dispatch of troops on a battlefield, and then continued to sack Rome and return it for a ransom. Sections of the wall they built to remind the people of Rome of that invasion are still standing to this day. In the words of Brennus, the warlord leading the party, "Vae Victis", Woe to the vanquished.

@@evne6517 yeah they were always prolonged bursts it's nearly impossible to change notes We don't know how exactly it was played since there isn't any written song but historians say they were used as a background sound for an entrance like the start of a fight or the start of a ceremony we also have a image carved on a bowl with carnyx being played to welcome gods So with all that it probably wasn't a song just long bursts to symbolise something is coming or has arrived or has started Dairhorn was used by all celts too we just call it that in Ireland and was played more like this at festivals and in wars alongside a carnyx.
