@@reerjgiorge Guys you sound like you have such low expectations. I learned how to do stone masonry in a few months. You can make your own house with big thick stone walls. Then you can extend it a few years later when you have more money. It is possible....
@JohnPorsbjerg4 жыл бұрын
Churches and chateaus all over europe are being sold for dirt cheap or free, and some counties will even fund the restoration of an old building if you have good plans and will do it in the original style. It can be done for cheap, but you’ll have to live maybe hours away from a city, in a country you don’t speak the language of, dealing with setbacks and delays because old buildings are unpredictable. It can be done with very little money, it’s just a very difficult thing to do, you won’t have a cool contemporary renovated building in the same amount of time it takes to build a pre-fab.
@SamBorgman4 жыл бұрын
@@JohnPorsbjerg Exactly. I live in the city in Canada. If I wanted to restore an old church in rural Italy, I'd have to spend a lot of money just on living there for many months (if not years), without any income. That alone makes something like this impossible. He said just cleaning out the inside of the building took 3 months.

For years I'd finish watching those filmed in Europe and immediately email the link to my dear, dear friend Juan. He was Spanish and had a degree in architecture he never used (because after moving to the US he fell into a great career in interpreting) but he just hung on every second of these although normally he wasn't a KZbin watcher. This renovation is Brilliant - I could compliment a thousand details but I think in total, it works so well because Tas approached it with respecting the original structure as much as possible - from the structure to the works from his Abuela; he allowed the artifacts to bless the home in every way. The aspects he added are both functional but unique still. There is so much in the space but still it doesn't overrwhelm or appears cluttered. Wonderful!
