Awesome purchase of ancient Romans. So, lets take a look. 1. Probably a late Roman Tetradrachme, minted at Alexandria, Egypt. 2. An old Roman brass or copper coin, SC means "Senatus Consulto" (minted through the decision of the Roman Senate). 3. Constantinus Junior, Folles (early 4th century). 4. Constantinus Junior, Folles. 5. Valens, Folles. 6. Constantinus the Great, Folles.

@@TtheSilverStacker 7. Constantinus, Folles. The backside is a military camp gate. 8. Constantinus, Folles. 9. Antoninianus, late 3rd century, tough to identify the emperor, perhaps Claudius Gothicus. 10. Could be Constans. The coins of Constaninus the Great and his sons are the most common coins of the Roman Empire, but perfect to start a collection of ancients. Hope you´ll enjoy them !

Awesome pickups sir. That colosseum coin is fantastic. Love the history behind these. You have some great examples there. Were they pricy? I met Aaron at the Baltimore coin show and told him to send you my greetings. lol He must've forgot.

T the Silver Stacker, this video was awesome. Some information on Roman emperor Titus. He reigned from 79 to 81 AD. He was the son of Emperor Vespasian who reigned from 69 to 79 AD. The Colosseum was actually started during Vespasian"s reign and completed during the reign of Titus. Titus was suceeded by his younger brother, Domitian who reigned from 81 to 96 AD. Together, Vespasian, Titus and Domitian belong to the Flavian dynasty who ruled from 69 to 96 AD.

I own silver Denarii of all three Flavian emperors (Vespasian, Titus, and Domitian). I also have coins of emperors Galba and Vitellius, who were the predecessors of the Flavians. The only emperor I'm missing in my 12 Caesars set is Otho.

It's so hard for me to identify the people on the coins. The same person can look so different even on different strikings of the the "same" coin. I've started collecting ancient coins, trying to get at least one example from each period, each roman or greek ruler, etc. Can't wait to see these in your auction! 😀

Really enjoyed the history lesson in the beginning of the video. You can learn a lot through coinage, just amazing! I also love ancient coins but do not know a lot about them. I buy graded ones because of the fakes out there.

Contrary to popular belief, NGC doesn't guarantee the authenticity of ancient coins. They even state that on their website. Most ancient coin collectors purchase their coins raw from reputable dealers and auction houses such as Harlan Berk and Classical Numismatics Group (CNG). You can avoid fakes if you avoid eBay.

Every single ancient coin came out of the ground with millenia's worth of gunk and dirt over them, and they all had to be cleaned, no exceptions. Its perfectly fine to handle ancient coins with your bare hands, its just good practice to make sure they are clean. Look into Numismatica Ars Classica, they handle coins in the 7 figures with their bare hands. If they do it, I guess its ok.
