Great forensics 👌 It's in many ways sad as his life pieces together, and I keep thinking he was once a boy like my son. Then he grew up and moved away and became a man like me. He's just another human being found dead - and I feel he deserves the same respect as someone who died last week. Important to remember that he's not a dinosaur skeleton or frozen mammoth. Funny that nobody has figured out that his "unfinished arrows" were just spare shafts so if he broke an arrow in game he could retrieve the head and fletching and quickly make a new arrow instead of taking the time to find the wood, cure/harden it, straighten it then make an arrow. That wood must be dried in a cool dry place for months, plenty of time to starve to death.

One of the most recent theories of how he died suggests that he was part of a raiding party from the southern side of the mountains attacking people to the north. Unfortunately, he got shot in the back when the raid failed and his group was trying to flee. Since he was wounded he fell behind his fellows. Their persuers caught up to him and finished the job leaving his body where he fell.

I went to the museum back in 2001 in Bolzano where Utzi is preserved in a special room. I bough the book that was speculating how he died. The following day the scientists studying him said an arrow head was found in his shoulder and that he was murder. The book that I bought the day before became very inaccurate. The museum also has all the items that he was carrying and wearing including an axe made of copper. I think because of this copper ax the copper age in Europe was push back more than 500 years.

Seemingly, according to the “experts", everything ancient is attributed to ritual. If so, ancient man had no time for much else except to perform this ritual or that ritual. How about ancient man was trying to survive as best he could? Ritual had a very small part in anything ancient man did until the time of the Pharaohs. I am really weary of hearing “it was part of a ritual.” No, it was not!

Putting a naked man - even if he died 5000 years ago - in a glass case, is cynical and the height of rudeness!! One wonders if those who put him there would want to be exposed to the same. Honor the dead!!

The body in the glass case is a reconstruction, he is placed elsewhere (and not upright). Though I have no doubt that archaeologists would gladly have themselves preserved and shown if it helped in archaeological discoveries in the future 😂 absolutely no doubt at all

"Otzi stood at approximately 160 meters tall." That's tall, like 480 ft... he could be a contender for Godzilla. Lol I think you mean 1.6 meters tall. It's funny how often this mistake occurs.
