At the age of 39, Catherine’s world changed. She discovered the world of ancient craft of basketry weaving. She chose to listen to the voice inside. She chose to follow her passion.

I also wanted to be a nun, back when I was in my early teens. I grew out of it, completed college, joined the corporate world and got busy making money. I now know why I wanted to be a nun - even as a child my soul craved a quiet life. In my 40s now I find myself ‘wanting to be a nun’ again

The most important thing is not what you want to be, but rather how to do things right! That’s the way we are created; to be aware of the environment we live in. To be thankfull to our Heavenly Father for the gift of His wonderful creation and praise Him for that. Moreover, share time with our dear ones and show them how much we love and cherish them (PET’s and outdoor creatures included). Also, be kind with every one. Last but not least, enjoying the craft of our hands, adopting the pace if nature.

I agree. About 20 years ago I began adding beading to my embroidery work. Today, it may take me a year to complete a project. I’ve chosen to focus on learning as much as I can about Native American beading techniques so the designs, etc don’t die out. I also use authentic antique/vintage beads. My project may not be perfect but I can say I gave 100% effort. Spread love and joy!❤️🙌🏻🙏🏻🥰🤗

@@karlataylor1172 I am an American, who did not understand my country until I heard it spoken of as an adolescent country, compared with the very ancient and wise lands Like Japan and Africa. We are young and still enthralled with bright, shiny objects… With materialism. I am blessed with a circle of wise women and we celebrate The disruption of the comfort zone of materialism which this pandemic has brought. It has turned people inward to begin to listen to their hearts rather than their minds, and has helped them seek the beauty and richness of life in the simple things and in nature. I also see my country as a symbolic melting pot, where we can be an example of all different kinds of people living in harmony and freedom. We have a long way to go! It is a messy process, learning to love those who are different than yourself… We will make it. Most of us here have good and kind hearts and yearn for us to be a peaceful country.

Mesmerizing. Your films so immediately draw me in. I find myself slowing way down, captivated, focused and able to listen closely to the wise words of these Sages you film. Catherine is such a vibrant, beautiful woman. I needed to hear everything she said. What a gift that you are bringing this wisdom from across the world right to my feet! Thank you!!! I may need to tell you a gazillion more times how much joy it gives me that you are finding people in seasons of their lives when they are so ripe with inner riches from years of hard-won learning. And that you have become the kind of people with eyes to "see" their beauty and value. What you are doing is truly unique and a significant contribution to our world. I relish the opportunity each week to "sit at the feet" of the people you are finding and filming. The skills to pull this off don't go unnoticed. People may be "ripe" with wisdom but you have to be pretty special yourselves to enable them to trust you and open up. Bravo, bravo, bravo!!!

I am happy that Catherine found her passion in craft of basketry weaving. When she said she decided not to be a nun I thought all the Catholic nuns I admire. Sr. Deirdre Byrne is a surgeon that performs surgery on the uninsured poor at our southern border. Another is a teacher working in poverty areas. Another is a nurse. Nuns are very hard working, dedicated humanitarians that give very much to people that have nothing and the nuns ask for nothing in return. What they do receive in return is true joy.

My dear lady, you may not have become a nun but you have joined an Order. The one place I feel closer to God than anywhere else is in nature and the garden. Looking at your footage I feel as though I have joined you on your pilgrimage. In my lifetime I have done a lot of hiking and I will tell you the same thing that I have told many people. When you leave the city and walk in unspoilt nature you are surrounded by God's handiwork. It is clean and unspoiled and absorbing it around you and meditating on its beauty you realise that no man on earth could make such a beautiful garden. Only God has the Power to Make such a beautiful and awesome place.

Omg, what a great, beautiful video. Her words were so moving. The way you filmed it, her, the music, the sweeping cinematography and beauty of the surrounding gardens, hills and mountains. It was glorious to watch. And what a magnificent inspiration Catherine is. 💜 I just subscribed to your channel and will now head to her link and find out more about her. She is living the life I've always wanted, in a place I've dreamed of all my life. She is an inspiration. 💜

I first did basket weaving about 35 years ago, when I was suffering from my first bout of depreßsion. There is nothing like it to chase the blues away as you concentrate on your project on hand. I have tried different crafts too chase my word away, but nothing does it like basket weaves does. Thank you to remind me at ,72 just how happy I was then.

Maybe it was Catherine who found you! So sorry to read of the loss of your granddaughter. There aren't the words that can take away the sorrow the pain. But videos like this can be such a soothing balm, they communicate a gentle rhythm, a respect and love that we also need to give ourselves on the journey of grieving. It's one I'm on too. Take care, stay safe. Sending a hug from Italy. 🙏🤗

The real trick is to get good enough at what you decide you must do that you do not become a burden and a laughing stock to those who will have to say I told you so. There is much more even that that. Yes, be creative and productive but there must also be a strategy for getting what you produce into the hands of those who will afford and appreciate your work. This is where most endeavors fail, unless of course this is all about having some sort of hobby on the side.
