‘Social’ media has been presented as the modern solution - sold to us as a cyber hack of connection. While it certainly has its uses, it allows for a connection that occurs only within the mental arena, while our physical selves remain alone in our living rooms.
Rediscovering our connection to humanity means moving beyond the illusion of ‘social’ media, where connections often feel shallow and confined to screens. The true work of meaningful connection is done in shared spaces, where more than words are connecting us - creating a space where true intimacy can occur - even if that means just touching an arm, holding a hand or sitting together saying nothing at all.
So, instead of just liking, sharing, or commenting online, let's pick up the phone and make plans to meet face-to-face. Look into someone's eyes, connect with their soul, and start consciously creating meaningful connections in our lives. It is in this way that we will look around one day and realise that we are no longer alone.

There's a word in Cymry (Welsh), hyareth, meaning a place you long for but have never been to or even know where it is. That's been my life. This was filmed in America, and we have since returned home to South Africa - so unfortunately it's not so easy to return to film with her again. I watch this video today of L Frank , After viewing the destruction from the California fires of the past 12 days, with the Sante Ana winds mentioned. Such a tragedy for humans, wildlife and animals and Mother Nature. I feel many of us feel untethered and un moored from our bearings … where ever that calling comes from. I would love to know what her doctorate was achieved in as she emits a nurturing wisdom of someone filling her role as an elder. Yes there is light that starts afresh in every human being… holding onto that and not allowing that gift to be stolen or oppressed is the daily task to master. I love finding the almost ink - like string of beads of seaweed at the beach… the miles of journey it took to reach our shores… maybe some of us have washed a shore… “there is freedom within there is freedom without … like deluge in a paper cup… don’t dream it’s over” . ( Tim Finn). I hope she and her community were safe and free from harm. Christchurch , New Zealand.
