I watched this crazy documentary where this guy was leading expeditions to what he claimed was the true cradle of civilization somewhere in south America. He had no maps and led them there based on memory. He would spend the first 3-5 days just taking them random places to prevent anyone from coming back to it later on. Nobody every found the way back but at the end of the documentary he cut. Deal with the US government and showed them what he found. It's all based on real events and super interesting. I can't recall the name but hopefully you can dig something up if you tried using the information I gave u. Have a great day!

I don't think anyone is arguing it has been modified. The petroglyphs are for certain. The eye sockets are almost certainly carved. I don't believe it is monolithic. I think it's a natural outcropping that people were able to see certain shapes and then chiseled away at to help better define. The dating is very silly. This could have been created at any time. An archeology survey discovering artifacts to help date is required before any educated guesses can be made. I also don't get the "it's a temple" statement. Why does everything have to have religious or spiritual meaning? When I was a kid I found rocks that looked like reptiles. I saved them and enjoyed looking at them, but I didn't worship them or make offerings to the reptiles gods.
@peterbereczki414714 күн бұрын
"How can any intelligent person look at that and think that it's just natural?? " the intelligent person in question might take a look at geological activity and history of the area first rather than give it in the bias of "it looks like it"

Certainly weathered stone, but with the clear rock carving in the cave & indentations then certainly possible these rocks were also carved as animal heads. I'd imagine the holes on top of the heads could have served multiple purposes, water holes to catch rain water to drink, holders to create fire pits or for holding wooden poles.

This is absolutely awesome! There is no doubt in my mind that there was human occupation here. The stones look intriguing, but I was totally hooked once these were shown to be placed purposefully facing north or south in some areas as well as the seaman's seat where a fire has clearly been lit. These past weeks have been quite the time for South American archeology. Just now an underground chinkana was found that runs underground connecting Sacsayhuaman to the Qorikancha temple in Cusco which turned out to be the secret tunnel Amsel Pi Rambla spoke of in the 1980s. I think I heard one of the team members refer to the site as a huaca/waka at some point? If it is a huaca, is there any native context on these structures among the locals that attribute any meaning to them?
@HistoryFuzzPodcast5 күн бұрын
Where to begin! Was that the tunnel where 18th century treasure hunters found “life sized golden jaguars with emerald eyes?” Indeed I said “huaca”. In this context, every stone figure is an individual huaca. Hence; collectively; we refer to the site as a “temple”. We will put it into richer indigenous context very soon on a level stream. There is already one stream, so watch that for now.
@TutankhamaruCapac5 күн бұрын
@@HistoryFuzzPodcast I think it may be the same one, it was considered a myth for the longest time until now. I am Peruvian and its unfortunate to say that I haven't seen much coverage on the topic but its still very recent and I don't think much has been done to study it further but hopefully that will change. I wouldn't be surprised if these Inca and Pre-Inca tunnels have existed in all of Peru and other areas like the one underneath Teotihuacan. As for this stone temple you have found in Colombia I hope it gets visibility online quick - Flint Dibble will absolutely soil himself when he sees this. Yup. They are of the "Grupo Guadalupe, K2G, Ksg" [Guadalupe Group]. They knocked in holes to resemble eyes and mouths, but in some instances they are mounted on smaller granite rocks.

It appears to me anyway that many archaeologists assume ancient man-made items are either a tomb, a temple, or an accessory of a temple. I built an interesting pond in my backyard with interlocking natural stone. Perhaps if someone in the future finds it they will assume it was a baptismal pool. Maybe some ancient cultures just built things because they wanted to create cool-looking things. Similarly today people are commonly obsessed with owning a cool-looking car and an elaborate home.
@HistoryFuzzPodcast12 күн бұрын
I agree. They were becoming obsessed with aesthetics and materialism, and enhanced rocks to reflect what the saw, and liked.

@HistoryFuzzPodcast I think that modern scholarship is tainted with a completely materialistic worldview. The widespread belief that when one dies, there is nothing after. All there is of their existence is what they have while alive. Therefore, they hold on to their theses like there's no tomorrow. Integrity is meaningless because there is no basis for morality. Legacy is meaningless if dead is dead.

@2013Arcturus14 күн бұрын
I think some of this might be overenthusiastic pareidolia, but I have no doubt that these ancient people saw the same things and may have enhanced natural mud stone features. You can see in the beginning that tons of the random outcrops have similar texture. Again, that said, clearly people were here and carving things, you'll just have to prove these aren't sedimentary mud rocks that were enhanced.
@HistoryFuzzPodcast14 күн бұрын
The cliff at the start greatly features enhanced bedrock; but the “temple” animals are all limestone. Mounted on smaller granite stones.

A heads up for the team of Archeologists, or head team-leader; If the bored holes for eyes are excavated, or cleaned out, they need to sample for anything that indicate an adhesive being used in those sockets. I have the hunch there may be an indicator that the sockets had "jewels" or polished stones in them. Quartz, and large emerald would probably be long ago stolen out. Yet might be found in the soils beneath.
