Just for comparison, I didn't fight this guy until Master rank, I had a wonderful speed eating build with Tigrex armor and all, fully upgraded with over 930 defense. He chewed through me like I was a cookie, fresh from the oven and still warm.

It makes perfect sense to me why Ancient Leshen remains the toughest monster, even after Fatalis - it's explicitly a supernatural creature from a different universe with very different rules, rules that it still operates under. As Geralt pointed out, Leshen draw strength from the forest, and there is nothing like the Ancient Forest back where it's from. I will never forget the first G rank double Hypnoc fight where their normal pecks (Just a standard non rage attack) could 2HKO me when I had maxed flagship elder dragon armor. Nothing in Iceborne came close to that. Sure Tempered monsters hurt but those weren't..the literal first thing you fought going into the rank lmao. Hypnoc was. And he was the tip of the iceberg.

It would have been interesting if there was a crossover to the witcher world. Sudden monster attacks are happening in velen, corpses who have a violet colour due to an extremely deadly poison found on them, there is a lot more fog and mist for unexplained reasons, resulting in monsters who make use of it to hunt prey. There are also strange tracks that look nothing like any monster from the bestiaries. Geralt learns that it is a Chameleos behind these attacks and must kill it.

Looking back on this hunt and his difficulty, it makes perfect sense why he's such a pain in the ass in world. In the witcher, geralt is litteraly imbued with a semi-magic form of power ever since he was a kid. He has mutations which help him fight magical creatures and a weapon made out of the exact material that is so effective on them. In MH, we are for all intense and purpose, a normal human. Yes we fight monsters but none that can use actual magic like a leshen. And our weapons arnt made out of silver, so if course it's going to be an uphill battle against a version of a creature that is supposed to be so old that some consider it a god. The hunters have no "magic" of our own, technicly not even geralt has magic, it's a pseudo magic he uses. We only get a runestone which is far weaker than what geralt can use. Aaaand the ancient leshen is in the ancient forest, an area that is supposed to be thriving with life and bio energy that the leshen can feed off of and is made so much more stronger because of it. So thematically, yes he should be a pain in the ass. Doesn't mean I like getting my ass kicked in full fatalis armour.

I could see even the ancient leshen strain itself to control something as brutal as a rajang. There must be a reason it only throw smaller monsters at you usually, even in it’s home series. Like, have the monster be controlled by the leshen when it’s calm, but then the instant it goes super sayian, it immediately pours every ounce of effort humanly possible into mauling the leshen before it calms down and becomes enthralled again. Even give it a finisher sort of turf war where the exhausted leshen is murdered then and there by the rajang in the most spectacular fashion possible. Alternatively, do the same for Deviljho, or both if your’e felling satanicly sadistic today. As for behemoth.... actually I think a hellbeast of THAT caliber is deserving of more compatible company. Maybe some of the more dangerous and/or massive elder dragons, like Lao or Taroth. Even a nergigante is to a behemoth in size like what a rajang is to a nergigante, at best.

I think something that's worth trying if you take a lot of damage from the crows, maybe speed recovery? Health augment, too. I like to run IG For that fight, as its the weapon I know how to use the best. I often run healing insects on that fight to mitigate the crow damage

I wanna like the AncientLeshen fight but the devs really need to do some fixing on him He and the Jagras has way too much health and I hate how Flame Manupilation has a long cooldown Not to mention,a lot of his attacks leave you pinned down which is annoying especially when doing it Solo Other than that,the fight is pretty fun(but that's only because I was wearing Fatalis gear)and I love the theme
