@koncrete if this interests you, you should look into children that have extremely accurate, vivid accounts of their own past lives. It's absolutely undeniable that something is happening as far as past lives one you hear how spot on these kids are. Some recount their experience in war, including the names of their platoons and knowledge of planes they flew and other details that a 4 year would never know. I'm sure you can get someone interesting with some great stories on the show.

@@inhiscare1oh I see your name and I get it now. If you're so religious that you obviously have narrowed your mind to never consider anything outside of your religion. Then why do you watch things like this? Just to be a naysayer in the comments? Because you can really keep your shittiness to yourself. It's not productive to anyone at all. And it's not very religious of you. It's just shitty. Nothing else. Just shitty

@docwhammowhat are you talking about? If youre so Christian (narrow minded) then why watch this? Just to preach? The Bible was written at least 100 years after Jesus died and was highly edited at the council of nicea so do you fully and only believe in the books some kings said are ok for you to read? What about the books of Enoch or Mary Magdalen? What about the Ethiopian Bible which has been proven to be the oldest version and closest to the original compilation? What do you believe with those?

When he said "I'm lonely" I felt that in my soul. So many people aren't on this wavelength and it's tiresome trying to make conversation with people who aren't paying attention to what's happening.

while that's true, i think it's also very odd to me that he's not interested in attending an exorcism, or even speaking to an exorcist , or in the case of Diana, not wanting to go to find crashed remains of a spaceship. Wouldn't you want to do that as an anthropologist, an ethnographer? To me, he seems like he's stuck in some voyeuristic 'no-man's-land' of propositional knowledge. To me, he's afraid of immersing himself in the experience of what he's studying. I can imagine that's quite a recipe for inducing loneliness.

Do you feel the same way about when 5% of the evidence contradicts the fringe conclusion? It makes me think of the Luke Caverns episode where he points out the beams of wood used in the Bent Pyramid construction (not maintenance) can be dated to only a few thousand years ago. By your username, I am guessing you might be someone who buys into the idea that the pyramids are older. There is always that troubling 5% of data that seems to invalidate basically all the ideas our brains cook up.

When my son was 3 we were watching a doc where Inuit people were going under the sea ice when the tide was out and collecting food. Before the narrator said anything about food or mussels, my son said “They’re going down there to get mussels.” I didn’t know he even knew that word so I assumed he meant muscles. I was like “yeah they’re gonna get strong hunting down there.” And he said “No, I mean mussels that you eat. They’re gonna fill their buckets up with mussels.” One minute later that’s exactly what they were doing. I looked at him and said “How did you know they were gonna find mussels?” And he said “Cause I’ve done that before. I used to go under the ice too.” I got chills and asked him what he meant by that. And he repeated “I was a man and I would go under the ice and fill my basket with mussels.” I tried to ask more questions but he turned toddler on me and got disinterested and ran away to play lol. I didn’t want to pry because I was afraid I would ask leading questions and make him say something he didn’t mean. He’s never mentioned it again, he’s 8 now and I remember it vividly!

My grandfather passed in 1992 then my mom passed in 1994. A couple of years after their passing i had a dream of my grandfather he was sitting across from me from a wooden table wore a suit and spoke to me not with words but telepathy. He asked how we were and wondered where my grandma was and why hadnt she came with me in the dream. He was upset she wasnt with me. Then a round ball of light came next to him. I knew it was my mother. She told him they had to go. I feel it was so real. And their consciousness lives on ❤❤

I had a good friend pass in 2004 in a car accident. The night after the funeral I had a dream where I was back in the funeral home but it was just me, and my friend in his casket. He got up out of the casket and I asked him how he was doing. He said that he felt great, and that everything was beautiful. He then turned around and walked out of the funeral home through the wall. Another instance happened a couple of months ago. Someone from my past randomly popped up in a dream. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to speak to her because seeing her in my dream startled me so much that I woke up. The next day I did search with her name, not expecting to find anything, and found her obituary. She had passed a week before. So I would agree with you that their consciousness definitely lives on.

I had a dream where my father (passed in 98) was looking up at my childhood bedroom window. 2nd floor. I was looking down at him standing in the front yard with 2 ft of snow, hands in his pockets. He told me everything is going to be all right. Then I was awakened by a sharp rap on my bedroom window. A couple weeks later my mom told me my aunt, my father's sister, had died a couple weeks ago. The dream came along the same day my aunt died.

I've never died, but I'm an epileptic and I have had a ton of seizures. Sometimes go deeper than others and everytime I come back a little different. It isn't uncommon for people to be all around me as I'm on the floor and things start turning on again. However, they all slowly disappear as I regain full consciousness and control of my body. One time though, I went really deep and along with those people I noticed my grandparents and my aunt and uncle watching me. They had all died by that time. They didn't say anything; only watched me until they disappeared with everyone else.

Dr. Ian Stevenson established the Division of Perceptual Studies (DOPS) at UVA Virginia which studies children who remember past lives. They have KZbin videos that talk about their research, it’s fascinating. Also, the book Many Lives Many Masters by Dr Brian Weiss is a mind blowing, relatively quick and easy read written by the chair of Mt Sinai Miami Dept of Psychiatry that explores the therapy sessions he provided for a woman who could vividly remember all of her past lives under hypnosis. I think there were about 10 and she was a man and a woman in mostly really tough life situations and experienced tragic, horrific deaths. All her current life’s irrational fears were being manifested by unresolved trauma from her past lives.

An embarrassment of riches ... what's availed to us today. These long form discussions are wonderfully informative. Growing up in the 60's, we had World Book Encyclopedia set (the dull blue covers, these were working class encyclopedias ... the Britannica set was way too expensive). If it wasn't in there, tough. As a freshman in HS, I was excited because the library had a single mammoth unabridged dictionary. Exciting stuff ... riveting actually.

In Korea, apparently it is well known that a crisis precipitates someone into becoming a shaman. Modern psychology would merely dismiss it as a mental breakdown, or similar wording. Thereby avoiding having to look at what the RESULTS of the crisis were. How it played out in someone's experience. Did they end up just being broken and confused? or did they suddenly have a hotline to answers for others that they couldn't otherwise have known?

Jeffrey Kripal's thoughtful, comparative perspective is so important in times like this when sides are taken, fingers pointed, and lines drawn in practically every subject. Hopefully his books will become more widely known and read. He refreshingly doesn't propose to have definitive answers to many questions, and is comfortable with acknowledging that there are things that happen that we honestly just do not understand. Raised Christain as a child,. and knew there was something just not right. I could spend an hour listing them all but I went my own way in my teens. Now,. I strongly feel the exact things that you do. (and I'm a 66 y/o metalhead). How did I come to agree with you? From my obsession with quantum science, NDE's and past life testimonies by the very young. These things brought me to the beliefs that I have today. Which are 99% exactly what you are talking about. The term we have always heard but perhaps ignored is 'we are all one". Now I take that seriously. Our brain is but an antenna of sorts. The 'soul' of the human race is the soul of the universe. Powerful and awestriking. The GOD that the religions seek is within us through this energy. It has been scientifically proven that if Transcendental meditation groups get together by the thousands and at the exact same time,. they focus on one small area of a crime ridden city,. they can actually reduce the crime rate for that time through meditation. Ok,. and some call it prayer. POWER IN NUMBERS. These things work. One other thing that I have learned to take literally that religious people do not. They take it as a metaphor,. but as it says in all of the books,. GOD IS LOVE. Period. End of story. The most awesome emotion and feeling one can have is pure love. Is this not what God would be? Would pure love not solve all problems?. GOD IS LOVE. No more needs to be said. I truly believe that us humans have within us great powers that we can all use (as past civilizations once had) but the ones who run this world have done their best,. and succeeded to dumb these abilities down for their control. If we ALL invoked the LOVE within us that we get from the ether of the universe and used it against the evil going on against the world today,.. that would be 'God making the world a better place'. I could go on forever but I am in bed already and just had to get up to turn the desktop on to write this. Religions are all hypocritical. Eastern philosophy is more in line with the truth. Yet,. I have relatives who will not speak to me today because I do not believe in a man sitting on a thrown with a long beard up above the clouds. Now who is more crazy? Me or them?

Great discussion! And I know that feeling of being alone when you feel that joining one religion means rejecting the others. Then I discovered the Baha'i Faith which is based on the belief that all the great historical religions are from the same Source and exist for the same purpose, to spiritually educate humanity. So being a Baha'i means believing in the valid origins of all religions, that they appeared at different times to people of different cultures and needs. The teachings were tailored to the needs of those people.

I have questioned organized religion since I was little. I was raised in a catholic family and I do believe in god, just not in the way that religion describes it. I have always been hyperaware of peoples energies and life forces to the point where I have always seen it as normal and thought that everyone experienced the same kinds of perception. I later found out that people who I had interacted with did not have these same perceptions making me feel like I was making it up in a sense. It wasn't until I had my first powerful psychedelic experience that I confirmed that I wasn't imagining things and that we truly are more than flesh and blood. What I experienced can't be put into logical words ands it completely changed my views on religion and spirituality. It is truly impossible for me to convey this reality to others because it's something you have to experience to see. I do agree with Jeff that we are god in the sense that that's where our consciousness stems from, just individuated into single units of what most believe god is. I believe we are here to gain a greater understanding of existence so we as a whole can grow and learn from traumatic and enlightening experiences.

I think there's a difference between spheres or orbs, and 'flying saucers' or other 'ships' in the skies or outer space. I also think spiritually manifested spheres or orbs could be confused with technologically produced spheres or orbs, like 'foo fighters'. They're both essentially energy in a specific form. Perhaps the technological form is mocking the spiritual form, or imitating the spiritual form.

The orbs I've seen on rare occassions are the size of a golf ball, glow white/yellow and seem to be translucent. Based on this I think they"re spiritual in nature. I think the larger glowing spheres e.g. greater than 1 metre and often reported by pilots are more likely to be alien drone craft.

Where do u get the idea that the foo fighters are technological in nature? I’m curious; I haven't heard that thought before
@Michael_Birk
@Michael_Birk Ай бұрын
@@jfx5054 To be honest, I'm not sure where I got the 'orb tech' idea. At this point I think it's a fairly standard idea. I think spiritual orbs are much smaller. One guess would be that Foo Fighters were ET drones in a 'raw' energetic form, as opposed to physical/material objects.

I figured id share this experience i had ,with the nature of this podcast it seemed appropriate. Many will say im full of crap. Then there will be some that understand where im coming from . That said , i have had this dream 2 times in my life . I was standing infront of a very normal typical looking classroom setting and im standing at the front of it ,infront of a black chalkboard . And people were asking me questions of all different types. Some were these really long mathematical equations. And i was just raddelling off the answers like u wouldnt believe. This was with everything. (THERE WAS NOTHING I DID NOT KNOW THE ANSWER TO ) NOTHING !!! it was absolutely amazing. I .mean this as absolute as i can stress , ( THERE WAS NOTHING I DID NOT KNOW THE ANSWER TO ) i truly believe i tapped into what is known as the( AKASHIC RECORD ) . Im shaking right now while typing this comment in . Just thinking about that dream gets my hearts pounding . So thats what happened to me . I just wanted to share that. DANNY your podcast is topnotch bro . I truly enjoy watching and learning so much. You do a great job . P.s. if someone opens up to you and tells you something super personal or something crazy that happened to them . Plz try not to dismiss them to quickly. You could be missing out on emense knowledge

Prof. Kripal's dismissal of the idea of ufo's crashing and the recovery of bodies was pretty strange. Seemed like it conflicts with his notion of orbs as spirits. This was a significant part of testimony to the US congress thats occurred over the past year. We have greater evidence of a US crash retrieval program than of monks levitating. Not saying I think thats false though. I think Prof. Kripal is not up to speed on recent developments. Other than that great interview with an open-minded guest.

@@wastenotwantnotArt Exactly. Jacque Vallee has documented a huge amount of these cases. One among many researchers who have done this. Why they are crashing I have no idea, but its happened and seems to keep happening. Kripal seems to to want to fit everything into a religious framework, which is understandable given his training. I think the reality is that the phenomenon is a strange mix of mechanical and spiritual aspects.

@@dbells626 all religious have been corrupted to fight among each other. The central themes are very much alike. Sometimes I say all roads connect in Fatima. That was not secret nazi tech. God is real . Most Christians don't know Fatima is the name of Mulhamed's favorite daughter and how it became a town in Portugal is a remarkable story. In addition the master Jesus is but 2000 years old. God is much older. A famous UFO researcher and contactee named George Van Tassel once said that the book of Enoch is essentially true. Elizabeth Prophet has made a strong case that Enoch predates Genesis which was compiled by the hebrews in 600 BC while in captivity reviewing the ancient summerian tablets. We continue to let the bad angels run the show on earth. Jacque Vallee calls Fatima a world control system. I call it a warning system. Follow the Virgin to Garabandal Spain and to Akita Japan etc and we are being warned indeed. Man has freewill but being led astray intentionally. Thanks for your attention. We are living in a spiritual world disguised as a practical one.

Understanding that knowledge extends beyond mere propositions (a list of facts) is crucial. It encompasses procedural (knowing how to do something), perspectival (viewing situations from different angles, like a pitcher, batter, or fan at a baseball game), and participatory (experiencing roles firsthand, such as being a parent or a lover). These concepts are articulated in cognitive science as the four Ps of knowing.

He might be right about the trauma. When I deployed to Iraq in 2003 to assist the 1st AD in taking and holding Baghdad my “intuition” went through the roof. I could feel people aiming weapons at me and move just before the round (RPG, AK or other Small Arms, even a missile once) reached me. I could feel IED’s before they went off (saved my life twice) down to I could see our cots remotely while out on mission (everyday, we didn’t stay behind the wire like everyone after 04) and tell people if they had mail on their cot or not with 90% success rate. Soldiers that have been in combat would be a good research group. My $0.02 🙏

One time though, I went really really deep and along with those people I noticed my grandparents and my aunt and uncle watching me all of whom had died. They didn't say anything; only watched me until they disappeared with everyone else. As we are few and far between and most of us aren't eager to bring it up in conversation I don't know if any other epileptics have experienced this sort of thing or not, but I sure wish I did.
