"Fall Of Civilizations" is truly one of the greatest channels on KZbin. Superior productions of the most interesting of subjects. I wish these were the videos they showed us in school. These videos always humble me as they are reminders of just how fragile our current civilization is. The world we know today is just a couple hundred years old. The Egyptian civilization lasted 3000 years!!!🤯

I was just thinking about how I got more out of 4 hours of KZbin than I did through the same amount of the subject being discussed in World History class in 10th grade. I think it's because in school, they're more concerned with the names, the time periods, the dates. The things that can be be tested in multiple choice. Whereas with this narrative, those things are included, but they are only part of the larger story of the rise and fall of the dynasties themselves. The whos and whats support the WHYs and the HOWS and those are the things that will help us remember.

Yes indeed! I have watched most of the productions and they are truly informative and fascinating. I've learned more about the history of the ancient world from them than I ever learned in school. Of course, I was in "school" in the 1960s when most of the information wasn't available and certainly not in such a professional format.

Mr Cooper, this is yet another masterpiece! I know that this is not a one man show, but big corporations spend millions on history-related content and without such success! Ever since the Sumer episode I was thinking what are the secret ingredients that make these podcasts such a blast and I think I formulated these: 1. Perfect voice - storytelling is important. 2. Attention to detail, even in a 3+ hr video. 3. Great sound complimentary to picture on the screen. 4. And the most important ingredient - your ability to immerse the viewers into daily lives of long-gone civilizations. It’s the poetry that suddenly brings these ancient peoples to life, and even the words and names. In this video, for instance, using Kemet, Waset, and Men-nefer instead of Greek versions - Egypt, Thebes and Memphis, respectively - makes a huge difference!

@@Scorpionwincheater88 No it's not. Every episode is first posted as a podcast, with only the audio. It takes a great deal more effort again to add the visuals to match that audio, so they are all later posted as videos, but he leaves the audio only podcasts up, because some people like to listen to them, and they use far less mobile data, for those who don't have access to WiFi wherever they plan to listen to it. That's why every episode seems to have been posted twice. The earlier version is always a podcast, and the later one is always a video.

Hey, I too enjoy history because it helps me _"understand human nature and the flow of the world."_ And, if you enjoy history books too, I highly, HIGHLY recommend: *Making Sense of World History* - _Rick Szostak_ (Google it) It's the best piece of media I've found for _exactly_ this kind of thing. Fortunately, it's Open Access (i.e. free to the public) since this project was funded by the European Union. It covers the entirety of human history, in a surprising amount of detail for a single book, with the goal of helping you understand the flow of human civilization from the beginning of humanity to the present -- not just our current scientific understading of the "what happened" but also of "why it happened that way." It also shows the commonalities between multiple societies (tribes, civilizations, etc.) throughout history, hence increasing your understanding human nature as well.

Clearly without equal, this podcast -offers to those who, like myself, were often apathetic to tales of ancient empires, rendered thus by generally less-than-inspiring lessons of early school days. And by virtue of his poetic, insightful and extraordinarily relatable accounts of human history, Mr.Cooper has managed to carry me back across the great gulf of millennia past, igniting in me a keen and increasingly passionate interest in these timeless tales. What an achievement!

I watch KZbin more than I probably should; however, even with literally hundreds of subscriptions, this may be my favorite channel. (It is even *imho* one of the best channels, which is a different thing altogether which does not necessarily overlap.) Although the wait was/is difficult, I *definitely* prefer to wait for it to be done right with care. As a former software engineer I understand the economics of TTM ("Time To Market") and cash flow etc. But I believe that over the long term any immediate/temporary losses from a slow release in order to perfect the quality will be more than compensated in the long term with positive word-of-mouth and grass-roots channel support. Plus (and imho most importantly) you are doing a great service to humanity at large by sharing the most accurate representation possible of our history and shared identity/place in the universe. All this told in such a compelling and exciting narrative...which results in even more sharing and understanding, culminating in the most wonderful human capacity: empathy. ...All of this juxtaposed over the bleakest, unfair, and nihistic setting/backdrop imaginable. This epiphany in the midst of a worldwide contradiction is almost Hegelian in its dialectic. ...phew! I hope that made sense. I am a clunky writer at the best of times.

I found your work a few months ago, and im so in love with all of it. Ive never been a history buff. But you are shaping a vision of mankind that i never ever considered. The more i listen to, the more i see the interconnections of the iconic places, events and constructions i was taught, finally gain more meaning and perspective as pieces with placement in a greater framework: Names to fill the spaces of the famous, Deeds given cause and affect, The wax, as well as the wane. - the influence and dynamic of both human desire and mother nature on mankind. I never saw history like this before - It was fed to me in isolated bites of immortalized, acclaimed people and places - never given a before and after, and in-between. Never placed within a multifaceted cultural dynamic. Im still learning - but to see Babylon attached to Rome, to Egypt, Assyria and Nubia in a river of time - it all forms a moving tapestry woven over centuries..millenia. Each finally given a sense of their weight of affect and timescale in mans ever evolving narrative. The first time i started to see this - it gave me goosebumps to "SEE" what i had never seen before ! And like i said .....im not a history buff🤷‍♀️ But i love this - you have opened my mind. 🤗
