Are these videos from now? I love it because they feel so nostalgic and early 2000s documentaries. Steve has the coolest job in thr world 😊

True! They remind me of 90s documentaries. I love this style - more than the documentary style today. His videos got such a calm mood. I'm HSP and I love his videos.

Not unless Steve is getting younger each year :) No these are older videos, but they look to have improvements made to the image quality.

France is so stunning & so is it's rich & diverse history, specifically it's ancient history. I really love all things "Rick Steves" & I've been a long term follower & viewer. During the Covid lockdown, I was watching literally, all of the Rick Steves' travel shows from his own dwelling & watching Rick & other guest speakers, bringing varying cultures into his/their living rooms. That was really fun & cool to experience. I remember vividly, looking forward to each show each week. This video is really wonderful to watch & I've learnt much more about France's rich history. France has always appealed to me in every aspect, as it's one of my favourite European countries, so this knowledge is very welcomed. Thanks for your awesome travel productions Rick Steves & here's wishing you many more years of happy travels. Peace✌

one day I will have enough money to go to these places, also on an unrelated note if only I had a way of finding a job that gets me to travel just like rick steves my idol, maybe just working as an executive producer for a travel show or something

Can't assist with the hiring process but I recommend Enterprise Mobil. I work remotely so I can be anywhere.

@@vaibhavsingh1282not only the money but each country has rules on long term stay & require a visa, even then often there are restrictions on work & such. So you are right it’s not just a pack your bag & move thing.

What is mind boggling about the discovery of the French cave paintings in September 1940 is France was invaded and overrun by NAZI'S by may-June in 1940... .

I’m sure it was an accident or a cultural difference but the tour guide’s inflection at 1:55 sounds like he’s mocking Rick Steves in a French accent, “No, it’s not a HUNT-TING scene.”
@matthieucalu7 ай бұрын
That’s how French people speak English. He’s not mocking anyone, just answering the question.
@INTUITIVENORSK2303Ай бұрын
Actually, I can think of other countries whereby the many locals are more rude, crude & are much rougher & more aggressive in their speech & general intonation. England comes to mind, not to mention, the very heavy & poor drinking culture abound. Maybe we need to focus more on this aspect of general cultural behaviours. Not to mention racism is rife there too. I have visited & I have witnessed & it's not good whatsoever. For eg: I'm sure many globally can remember the negative racial riots that occurred there very recently. False news/lies, had been circulating via the media & because of this, it gave very aggressive & angry English people (primarily younger males, as stated via the news) a supposedly "good excuse" to cause unnecessary riots & mayhem abound.
@INTUITIVENORSK2303Ай бұрын
@@matthieucalu I agree with you. The real issue is however, that some people will seek any excuse, to have a go @ the French. They just cannot help themselves, even if it means, watching a video that they wouldn't normally watch, or visiting a video site they'd normally never visit, just to make their nasty comment or point. I have been studying people's comments via you tube/social media for many years now & I've seen the very obvious patterns abound, that I cannot be wrong in this instance.

At least over there they do not remove items as the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian did.
