Ancient Snapping Turtles And Giant Alligators With Greg The Pong Guy!

Greg Wittstock the pond guy came to visit the zoo, and we decided to do a little check up on our huge alligator snapping turtle Louis! It's definitely a challenge to get a massive snapping turtle out of a pond with two gators swimming around, but I wouldn't have it any other way! Louis weighs over 100 pounds, and has incredibly powerful jaw pressure! You definitely don't want him taking a bite out of you!

Drove up on a smaller snapping turtle on the side of the road and some guy was trying to move it along into the stream on the other side. He really was a stinker, literally trying to bite the hands that were helping it but it was amazingly beautiful.

Wow I remember reading about Civil War age alligator snappers and how they found bullets from back then embedded in living big old turtle shells . Amazing test of time for sure!

Wow Jay full house great to see, snapping turtles look so prehistoric. I saw one in fresh water the size of a coffee table, he was huge that he took over the size of the pond bank.

They truly are amazing turtle species and living dinosaurs. I’ve always been a snapping turtle fan and a happy owner of 3. I basically have my own personal zoo and just started filming all my critters. You should check them out sometime. Thanks for showing us what a huge old snapping turtle looks like up close..Very scary looking and so old looking,,,,,We have big snapping turtles up here in Ontario Canada as well ..and get that big also...not sure if they are the same kind of turtle or not..do you know? No it's not. You have common snappers. That's an alligator snapper. The alligators don't live that far north.
