the flutes were off key and sounded ad though they were mumbling into an instrument. There is also clear instructions in the sheet music for this piece explicitly stating for them to use recorders at one point which they never did in this performance. I am proud of the trombones they did considerably well.

Oh yeah and I play the flute and my favorite parts are right before the pencil tapping where we play the G and the percussion do the gong and our little "feature" after the tapping. I have to play this song in 7th grade in a month, and we have to use the recorders! I swore I would never use that dinky thing again. I play the flute and I guess I'm pretty good at it,but not the best. A seven year old I know, can play, "Flight of the Bumblebee," Very well without the music sheet.

Oh my gosh, we played this back in middle school. I've been looking for the music score for years. Who knew I'd find the song on youtube. *shakes head* An excellent job, the mild tuning issues in the beginning made it sound more archaic, though I feel the trumpets were overstepping. The woodwinds were lovely as always and the lower brass was beautifully full but not too loud. ^_^ Love it! *Like*

This is what happened when we received the piece. conductor: we need to use recorders me:shocked conductor:blow air through instrument while doing random notes me: more shocked conductor:sing me: SOS! conductor: tap pencil on the music stand (loud thud)

At my school, we don't even have the whole band playing everyday except important ones like before concerts because the school can't figure out how to split their middle school. I really hate this song. I mean the middle and ending parts are nice but the beginning really irritates me for some reason. And the part were we use the pencils to play the rhythm, and have to sing really irks me. Oh I really like last few measures! The trumpet part rhythm is nice.
