As a young boy my father gave me ‘Chariots of the Gods’ to read. He was an avid reader. He didn’t tell me what it was about, nor discussed with me after I read. He was gone too soon, and I never had the chance to talk with him about the book later on. I think I know what he was up to though, having given me the book. Cheers dad! I am indian. Our text, old texts vedas, puranas, Ramayana, Mahabharat also depicts more or less same. So in holy books there is very precious knowledge. My father was a devout southern Baptist christian, all of his days. As a young adult man, he saw a UFO with his own eyes up in the cascade mountains of Washington State while on a hiking/camping adventure with a church group, described by him as a classic flying saucer. He didn't broadcast this information, but in the 1950s he acquired some of the early paperback publications regarding the numerous sightings and theory regarding this topic. I discovered this small collection In his belongings after he passed. In 1970, a book showed up at our house titled 'Chariots of the gods'. I was a book lover and read it. As a 10 year old boy it was fascinating to me. And it poked more holes into the religious doctrine I had already been questioning, but with no logical answers. I have since wondered how my dad fit it all together. I do not think he was ever 'torn' between religion and science. I don't think those two topics are mutually exclusive. Still, he brought the book into our house knowing full well that I would read it. Oh well, it is what it is. 👍

He fit them together by realizing that these "aliens" are actually fallen angels. They were thrown out of the 3rd heaven, God's abode, and into the 2nd heaven, the "outer space" of the universe. Genesis tells of them coming to Earth and mating with human women which produced a hybrid race that was bigger and stronger than humans. God threw the offenders into the abyss and killed all the hybrid race in the great flood. The book of Enoch and Genesis also say these Fallen ones, taught men about metals and war and nature and astrology and cities; and they were worshiped as God's. Finally, Christ said they will be on earth in the last days as they were in Noah's day. The bible, written 2 to 3 thousand years ago, speaks of them. Read Genesis carefully.

@@crystalmorgan1959 hi Crystal. Your analysis does cover all of the bases, and you seem to be well informed, and/or educated. I can assure you that my father had neither of those attributes. Don't get me wrong, he had sense enough to be put into the position at Boeing of being a quality control inspector for the Saturn 5 project that went to the moon. But in other ways he was a very simple man, not looking too hard for 'proof' or some kind of 'evidence', or even a pieced together explanation for what in his mind, God had revealed to him. From 'boogers' long ago in Arkansas, just as real as they are today, to a much more advanced craft traveling through the sky, and his own two eyes, I guess my dad likely qualified as an OG member with full status, in the club of no return. The only thing i question is this, why aren't the aliens making contact? If they're so advanced in technology, realms and plains and dimensions, space travel possibly time travel why not make contact. That's the part that doesn't make sense to me and all the answers that accompany that question to me are worthless and invalid. I have always felt that God or God's whatever or however ypu belive are aliens, I'm really spiritual so connecting that spirituality to aliens is fairly easy amd makes sense but thays not why I'm spiritual. I'm spiritual because to me that makes sense and feels right, if they are indeed our makers, I would be very interested either way to see how contact would unfold. I was still in diapers when Chariots Of The Gods Came out. Then 1 day about 1985-86 there was a commercial on TV & it was about his book. My Dad said, "do me a favor, stay away from that guy" he said the same thing about L ron Hubbard's scientology book too. I haven't read scientology & probably Never will. I have read Chariots of the Gods several times & I LOVE it. Erich calls into question so many things in a way that makes sense & scares the pants off of religion. I am so fond of this presentation by Erich. I have found his theories so convincing. Erich truly believes what he talks about, because he has looked into the ancient texts with a new context in place; The context of our modern understanding of what was being narrated to us in the ancient texts. It does indeed take some effort in translating the messages in more ways than one, but if done with faith and just cause, one can definitely see that what is being told really does make sense when you interpret it in Erich's context. There is nothing to hide. There is nothing to conceal, distort, gain from this, it is simply chronicles of events that took place in Humanity's distant past. Much of the texts have been deliberately destroyed, or sadly succumbed to unfortunate circumstances that led to the texts' ruin, such as a fire or sinking underwater. At various times, there were efforts made to even protect some texts, their authors knowing of the texts' importance and vulnerability to others who seek them destroyed, the texts were hidden so as to protect them from such evil forces. We know this based on the circumstances of how the texts were found. Other discoveries were by sheer luck. Texts thousands of years old... found half buried in a crumbling ruin in the middle of nowhere... All that is attempting to be achieved here is the search for the truth. There is no agenda other than that and that is why I admire Erich and everyone of his kind. Isn't it also funny when some people, like Erich are mocked and made fun of. Often I wonder why that is. But then I already suspect why. I also believe what Erich is trying to explain to us to be true. When after researching for so long into this subject, to still have a solid theory says a lot about being on the right track.

If so he'd have been about 80 in 2015, and to be 89 he'd have to wait around till about 2024, and we're not there yet, he must be only about 87, but not in this video, which looks like 1980s. You really should take a few minutes to check a few facts, you can keep the lecture running while you do it FGS, before you make the very big decision to be hooked on something produced by a convicted fraudster. His motives may be as pure as he claimed, he only spend a year in jail and I'm sure in Switzerland it was no great hardship and it gave him free housing while he wrote book 2. but you should have some capacity for intelligent suspicion, at least. If this person is flying in Stupa, and the personages from Mahabharata are also fly in small vehicles, called stupa, we need to look more to indian mythology, to Mahabharata, search words in indian language, in hindi and sanskrit. It is also interesting, that in the films for kids, that i have seen, the role of Baba Yaga have played men, and they were very skilled actors, so that personage remains in memory for all life, not like a wicked witch, bad grandmother, not like a bad woman, but like a very strange man, funny wizard, who very often helps the fairy tales personages, only on his own methodology, what is not recognisable at first time. 'Chariots of the Gods' was a book l found in the libary and l red, red again and red again! I was and still am fascinated by the way Erich von Däniken looked 'out of the box' and made sense of so many things! I remember when I was a child and just learned to read fluently, I remember a few books, one of them was about Atlantis, written by that guy Erich Von Daniken , the book belonged to my father and it turned out to be one of the first editorial books I read in my life. It inmediatly spark the mistery in me, I forever remembered those stories about Atlantis and the visions of Ezekiel. This was 44 years ago now and in all those years I conducted myself always looking for the other side of things, always knowing that nothing is impossible, searching for that alternate theory that solve the problem, or other ways to do things, professionally and in common everyday situations. I never knew how he looked like, how his voice sound, so watching him today on video and in color, so lucid and so alive, is like watching the revelation of one of his mysteries. I can tell hat he was besides me all these years and I can fairly say that he was a good and positive influence . It would be great to have a coffe with him someday, maybe next year, maybe in another life or another time , watching the pyramids being built. Thank you Mr Von Daniken.
