I remember seeing my grandfather with a tablet like that that he made himself. I'm not sure if he had a use for it, or just made it cause he wanted to, but it was a neat little tablet.

@@APinchOfHistory Hey Wojciech! I imagine using the tablet in the winter would be like a full exercise for your fingers, really pushing that stylus in there =)

I think it made a lot of sense for them to right on it the direction they did since that way they don't have to go to the next line quite so often and it's easier to read if you write a little larger.

I'm enjoying the mixture of big topics, such as famous battles, mixed with these more niche topics. Focusing on the everyday stuff gives context to the past.

this is so genius... people in ancient times were just as clever and innovative with their materials + technology as we are today!!!

I'd say morso then we are today. Back then, they couldn't brute force things with incredible machinery like we do. They solved there problems, we remove our problems

Hello, Wojciech Lada. I appreciate the fact that you have learned my language. I hope you won't take it amiss if I say that "wax" rhymes with "facts", "tax", "axe", "stacks", "lax", and numerous other words. Instead of an "oh" sound (like "ox" or "fox"), it has an "ah" sound. If I were as well educated as you, perhaps I could give you some Polish words that rhyme with "wax", and this might make it easier for you to grasp the sound. That aside, I am enjoying your fascinating videos that are enlarging my knowledge of the ancient world. Keep up the good work. Love from Liz and Ginger (picture left) in Australia.

How did they collect the wax. I’d imagine it’d be quite hard without the tools used today to collect the wax without upsetting the bees
@richardsequeirateixeira10 ай бұрын
Smoke. Using smoke can calm the bees.
@emmac39510 ай бұрын
Wait I’m actually so dumb I thought because the didn’t have modern tools such as smokers but there are other ways to get around that I suppose

@@emmac395torches produce smoke
@APinchOfHistory9 ай бұрын
Yeah, sure thing they didn't have modern equipment, but they were smart nonetheless. Smoke is easy to produce with a torch. Torches were actually more smokey that people think. There is usually a pretty decent solution to such problems even without modern technology :)

I wonder what ancien technology could be added to it to make it more like a smartphone. Like, an abacus to make it a calculator, a mirror, a solar clock, an oil lamp for the torch. Stuff like that. Any ideas ?
@APinchOfHistory6 ай бұрын
I think smartphones are extremely versitale creatures. It would take many objects from antiquity and combine them to achieve at least a fraction of what a moblile phone can do.

i have beeswax pastilles stored at home. is it possible to make a diy of that?

Why not? It's literally a piece of wood with beeswax inside. Go for it, but tell us about the results!
