I was baptised catholic, but I’ve been looking into orthodoxy, what would be the best course of action for me to start taking orthodoxy more seriously, to me it seems more accurate to the bible, and it’s teachings, what would be my first steps??? I don’t agree with the papacy, never have, probably never will. Any help would be great.

God bless. Not sure if you’re closer to a city or a sizable suburb but definitely visit an Orthodox Parish near you for a Divine Liturgy or a Great Vespers service (if offered; smaller setting). If there are several parishes not too far, do visit as many of them as you like as each community is different and introduce yourself to the Priest(s) and any welcoming parishioners. Let them know you are interested in learning more. Be present in the experience, learn what you can, reflect and most importantly worship… it’s a journey that moves and maybe in ways you won’t expect but definitely not a race. Christ is in our midst.

@@Daniel--tj8qe Praying for you and your walk. If anything, an Orthodox Church is usually always open and doing something at 9:00-11:30 on a Sunday morning no matter where in the world.

I'm trying to figure out where in the world anyone hasn't heard the name of Jesus Christ, His death and Resurrection. The entire world has heard, and it's up to everyone to seek Salvation for themselves. In ancient times, most people in the world were pagan, and certainly they could not find Salvation worshipping stones and rivers and trees. Today, atheists are really pagans worshipping themselves and other idols. Other major religions are the same, a form of paganism. Jesus said the path to heaven is narrow and winding and hard to find. The path to hell is broad and straight. To me, it seems that Salvation is the rare case, rather than a reward for everybody. God might want to save everybody, but many are called, few are chosen. I don't have a problem with this at all. I hope for my own Salvation in Jesus Christ. It's difficult enough to maintain that for people within the church, much less people outside the Church. I do believe people in other denominations can find Salvation in union with Jesus Christ, but I think Jesus was really clear. He said "None come to the Father but through me." He didn't say, except people who worship themselves or cars or politicians. He said He is the only way to Salvation. Why is that so hard? Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice and they follow me." Those who don't have chosen their own fate. They have free will to choose hell. Glossing over it doesn't help them.
