Thanks for bringing attention to such a neglected part of history. It would have been interesting to see details about the battle and also why Hieron moved people from one town to another. Ancient geopolitics is fascinating.
@AncientHistoryGuy5 жыл бұрын
There's very little info on the battle :( and yes Syracuse and its surrounding areas seem to be overshadowed by Rome Greece and Carthage which is slightly sad as so much history happened there!
@FreedomFox15 жыл бұрын
@@AncientHistoryGuy I figured that might be the case. It's striking that such a large city would have so little known about it. It even maintained its importance after the fall of the western Roman Empire, when the Greek Byzantines/Eastern Romans made Syracuse a major hub of their westward conquests.

Did a poll on my social medias about three isshhhh months ago asking if i should switch to a more realistic type of graphics, the realistic graphics came overwhelmingly on top. So the switch was made. Now that i have a large collection of these graphics the videos are a lot easier to make and take wayyyy less time :)

Please either fix your pronunciations or put the text of all proper nouns on the screen as your pronunciations can't be relied upon to determine who the heck you are referring to. Gelon="Jell-o?" Pindar="Pind-uh?" Parts 1&2 of this series are the only videos of yours I have seen and they are full of such strange pronunciation choices. Why should I bother watching any others?
