@@AncientHistoryGuy Didn't the Athenian assault on Syracusa significantly contribute to its surrender to the Peloponnesian League in the Peloponnesian War? That and a tiny plague outbreak in Athena known as the Great Plague of Athena which despite being the first big plague outbreak in history also killed a quarter of Athena's population including its leader Pericles. Also was Pericles a kind of democratically elected dictator

Small constructive criticism (or addition) if I may :) Pyrrhus probably didn’t have any interest in Rome or Italy. Rome waging war against Tarentum was a good reason to sail over but he didn’t really bother with the Italian peninsular or Rome. He fought them two times in Magna Graeca but then continued his own campaign down towards Sicily, beating up the Carthaginians, driving them back to Lilybaeum. It’s there that the Carthaginians and the Romans declare a (not really serious) alliance. Instead of sieging lilybaeum (historians don’t really know why, one even suspects he just couldn’t be bothered, but he probably smelled blood in Macedonia) returned to Epirus, fought the Romans a third time on the way and nearly lost and then died in Greece when he was hit by a brick. If you have a video about Pyrrhus and mention all that I‘m sorry, but I think it’s often misunderstood that he had any interest in Rome at all. It’s all in all a very good video :)

While he was fighting a soldier in an enemy city the soldier's mother threw a brick which by pure luck hit Pyrus's unarmored neck.

Archytas and Xenophon are my favorite ancient Greeks. They were basically lifelong academics who happened to be incredibly talented leaders and warriors. Archytas is especially impressive for seemingly dominating the political stage of this city-state at his apex (elected as strategos for seven straight years despite laws preventing successive appointments) and retiring as an undefeated commander. He may have single handedly given Taras enough soft power to throw similar weight to Capua and Syracuse, and even Rome before being conquered. The only person who lived a more interesting life, before Alexander, was Alcibiades.

Poking around youtube's history videos, I have come to the conclusion that you need to re-read Livy and Polybius's accounts of the life of titus quinctius flamininus. The man who became consul before 30, defeated the Macedonian Empire and gave the Greeks their freedom. No one has done a good bio on him, it could be a hit.
