I live 20 minutes away and only work around 5 mins away I can tell ya now going through there by yourself you definitely don't feel alone .. I felt compelled to give my ancestors offerings of tobacco as I walked along the entire serpent. You can feel energy in the area. Might just stop by there in the morning after my shift tonight.

Wow. This video is 1000x better than “the history channel” video on this subject. So much more relevant information!!!

The trash the history channel added to make this story “exciting” was so awful. They should take a page from your book. The actual history of this place is more than enough!!!

The MOST in depth, scholarly video on the Serpent Mound. And near the end you state "it is important to visit Serpent Mound with respect and reverence". Absolutely. Your video of the sunset at Summer Solstice is awe inspiring. Thank you for this wonderful video.

Phenomenal job covering Serpent Mound! We love the place and everyone connected to it and were so impressed to see them all referenced here: Graham Hancock, Jeff Wilson, Ross Hamilton. Even Squire and Davis, Jason and Sarah's book, the Hopi...such a comprehensive introduction for anyone new to the subject. Loved this video!

Awesome! 😁 Yeah we put a lot of research into this video and we’re happy we got so much info together under one roof. It was a pleasure meeting Jeffrey, he spoke to us for like 4 hours straight about Serpent Mound. It’s truly one of the great wonders of the word!

I live on the very rim of the crater and at the bottom of the first Appalachian foothill. Surveyors didn't even realize ir was a crater for a long time. So, there's no way its a coincidence for the largest serpent effigy to be in one of the largest craters in the world. That crater is millions of years old, how did they know what that crater was and why did 4 different peoples take xare of and add to the mound? The majority of tribes in my area homed in the valleys. However, Fort Hill a couple miles a way is built on a ridge. And the other thing that is never mentioned in conjunction is that the last two glaciers stopped right at the end of my driveway. I live at the the bottom of Slate Hill, the very first Foothill of Appalachia. It has a lot more going on with it that never gets mentioned in connection. Two glaciers and a crater, homesite on a ridge and then, the tribe no one speaks of. Tribes always consider their tribe's name their proudest detail. The original settlers/surveyors came across the nameles tribe who lived right on my property. Since they had no name, surveyors named them the Carmelites, which is the name of he area they resided.

Graham Hancock explains that, at present, the head of the snake is slightly misaligned with respect to the setting sun at the summer solstice. Due to the obliquity of the ecliptic, the alignment was perfect 12800 years ago, coinciding with the onset of the Younger Dryas, the last cold climate oscillation, which drastically changed environmental conditions on Earth.

awesome video. I've never seen the frog at the mouth before or heard about the burning rocks... really makes me think there could be a comet connection; Similar to the Hopewell comet mound from ~300AD. The frog also VERY much reminds me of the "frog" at gobekli tepe (Virgo constellation); and if the serpent is related to scorpius, that just makes it even more similar to gobekli tepe.... @12:49 your picture of the constellations-- top right corner, just in front of the Scorpius constellation is Virgo-- that looks JUST like the frog-- just like Gobekli Tepe... Draco/Hercules is a good contender too... (I'm aware of the EXTREME time differences) --- snake /frog/ vulture and smaller birds @18:15... same motif across earth

Nice video Justin. You and I met in Palenque 2012 Rainbow, which I’d came to for the Solstice. Other than that 2012 Palenque Winter Solstice, I’ve participated at every solstice and equinox at Serpent Mound 2004 to present. As well as sponsoring every Friends of SM Soltice & Equinox celebrations. When you return here (I live 10 miles from SM) I’d like to meet you again and share other ancient presence aspects of the area. As well as discuss the several crop circles in this area in the last 20 years, including the 2003 circle at Serpent Mound, all of which have been researched and documented by Jeffrey Wilson. I’d also love to show you a megalithic lintel structure nearby within 10 miles of Serpent Mound (near another earthwork) that only myself and one other know the location of.

Hey Adam, thanks for the awesome comment! Neither of us is named Justin but we were both at the 2012 rainbow for the solstice. Jeffrey had shared with us about the crop circles, and we almost included them in the video, but it would have opened a whole can of worms that we would need to unpack. Jeffreys work is awesome, super glad we met him. We will let you know when we are in the area again! Thanks for the support and invitation.

Hey Adam, it’s Milo (Miles) 😀 The red head guy. Did we meet at Palenque also? That was such an epic gathering! Thanks for reaching out and inviting us to come explore the serpent mound region with you 🙏 Sounds like you know some awesome places and are part of the SM community in really cool ways, with being there for the solstice so many years in a row. Awesome. Much love to you brother, see you in 5 😀

Considering all of the obvious physical changes of flora and fauna occurring all around them, as well as the seasonal changes in the night sky, I've always found it strange why native cultures would need to build such large and complex structures simply to follow the changing of the seasons. For that matter, observing the shadow of a single post in the ground could accomplish the same.
